Don’t Do This During Your Disney Vacation

There is so much to see and do throughout Walt Disney World Resort.   From experiencing the breathtaking nighttime shows like Disney Enchantment and Harmonious to classic rides such as Peter Pan’s Flight, Walt Disney World has so much to offer during a magical vacation.

With all the must-dos that we process for Guests heading to Walt Disney World, we also have some things you shouldn’t do.

Make sure you try to avoid doing these things during your Walt Disney World vacation.

Eating Only Burgers and Chicken Nuggets

Don’t get us wrong, there are sometimes that we strangely are craving a basic Disney burger or chicken strips.  What you don’t want to do during your Disney vacation is to only eat these food items.

There are so many outstanding food choices throughout the 4 Disney Parks and all of the Disney Resorts that you are really missing out if you don’t branch out and try something new.

The festivals in EPCOT are a fantastic way to try out cuisine from different countries.  Each festival brings delicious and flavorful items that Disney chefs have created just for the festival.

Each of the Disney Resorts offers unique food options that represent the theme of the entire Disney Resort.   Over at Disney’s Polynesian Resort, Guests can enjoy tropical flavors whereas over at Disney’s Riviera Resort, Guests can enjoy flavors from the Mediterranean.

Sticking to only burgers and nuggets during a  Disney trip is something we wouldn’t recommend.   Branch out and try some of the amazing flavors.

Walking Around Without Seeing the Details

We understand the desire to rush from experience to experience during a Walt Disney World vacation.   There is so much to do that you feel like if you slow down you will miss out on something.

We would like to point out that if you don’t allow yourself time to slow down you will miss something.

Every land and pavilion through the four Disney is designed and created with every small detail in mind.  If you don’t take the time to enjoy some of these amazing details, you are missing out on what makes Disney special and magical.

The World Showcase is a good example of this.  So many Guests focus on grabbing snacks and drinks that they miss some of the most unique and special parts of these pavilions.  Don’t skip out taking exploring these outstanding pavilions.  Many of them such as China have exhibits located within them.  Some even offer films that tell more about the country itself.

Even as you walk around Toy Story Land or Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, take time to enjoy all the hidden details throughout.  These details are what really make Disney stand out and special.  If you miss them, you are missing a big part of the magic.

Being in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Not Doing the Trails

A big mistake that many Guests in Walt Disney World is not exploring everything Disney’s Animal Kingdom has to offer.   Most Guests know about experiencing Avatar Flight of Passage, Kilimanjaro Safari and Expedition Everest, but they don’t know about the amazing trails.

In Disney’s Animal Kingdom, there are three main trails that shouldn’t be missed.  Right as Guests enter the Park, they can experience the Discovery Trail.  This takes them around the beautiful Tree of Life-giving them a closer look as well as different views of the tree.  This is a fantastic trail as it really does allow Guests to see all the different animals found on the tree.

The two other trails give Guests a better look at a variety of animals that make Disney’s Animal Kingdom home.  Maharajah Jungle Trek is where Guests can see the beautiful tigers and over at Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, Guests can see gorillas both big and small.

All of the trials are self-paced making them great to do when you have time between major rides or shows.

Forgetting to SLOW DOWN

One of the biggest mistakes that Guests make during their Walt Disney World vacation is that they don’t slow down.  As we mentioned earlier, it is easy to get wrapped up in running from ride to ride, but if that is all you do during your Disney vacation you are missing out.

Some of the best and most magical moments that happen during a Walt Disney World vacation are those that we don’t plan and don’t rush to.  Take time to have ice cream together on the hub grass, swim at the Resort pool, or take a skyliner ride around just for fun.  These moments are ones that become the favorite of a trip.

When visiting Walt Disney World, make sure you take time to slow down.  Enjoying a nice meal, or time at your Resort is something you don’t want to miss out on.  It is important for a successful Disney vacation to take time to relax.  This might be hard to do as you don’t want to miss something, but breaks are key to having a fun time.

Rest, relax, and slow down.  You will be happy that you did.

Walt Disney World has so much to offer when it comes to a family vacation.  There are so many rides, shows, attractions, and Resorts to visit that it can feel overwhelming.

As you plan out your Disney vacation, we hope that bringing up these things not to do when visiting will help you have an even more magical time.
