5 EPCOT Attractions to Skip and 5 You Can’t Miss – A Complete Guide

EPCOT is a Walt Disney World Theme Park that has been undergoing incredible transformations, making it a unique yet sometimes overwhelming park to navigate. From iconic attractions to new additions, this guide highlights the top five rides to prioritize and five that you might consider skipping during your next visit.

If you’ve already explored our guides for Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you’ll know that “five to skip” doesn’t mean these attractions are bad. Instead, it means they’re not at the top of our list compared to other experiences in the park. Let’s dive into our EPCOT picks!

Must-Do Rides at EPCOT

1. Soarin’ Around the World – Land Pavilion

One of EPCOT’s most iconic attractions, Soarin’ Around the World, offers a breathtaking virtual flight over some of the planet’s most awe-inspiring locations. From the Great Wall of China to the Eiffel Tower, this multi-sensory experience immerses you with realistic visuals, scents, and the feeling of flight. Located in the Land Pavilion, Soarin’ is a must-do for first-time visitors and seasoned Disney fans alike.

Pro Tip: Try to snag a seat in the middle row for the best view—no dangling feet in sight!

2. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure – France Pavilion

As one of EPCOT’s newest attractions, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure whisks Guests into Gusteau’s kitchen for a larger-than-life journey. This trackless ride is fun for the whole family and offers plenty of hidden details to discover with each visit. Located in the France Pavilion of World Showcase, this ride blends whimsy and innovation, making it an easy addition to your must-do list.

Pro Tip: If you’re visiting during peak times, consider using a Lightning Lane pass to reduce wait times.

3. Spaceship Earth – World Celebration

It’s impossible to visit EPCOT without experiencing Spaceship Earth, the iconic attraction housed inside EPCOT’s signature geodesic sphere. This slow-moving ride explores the history of communication and innovation, from early cave drawings to the digital age. While it could benefit from some updates, the nostalgic and educational aspects make it a quintessential EPCOT experience.

4. Test Track – World Discovery

For thrill-seekers, Test Track delivers high-speed excitement as you design your custom vehicle and put it to the test. The ride’s highlight is a 65-mph outdoor loop that offers both thrills and a unique view of EPCOT. Whether you’re racing for top speed or enjoying the competitive design aspect, this ride is a can’t-miss for adrenaline junkies.

Pro Tip: Single-rider lines can reduce your wait time significantly.

5. Living with the Land – Land Pavilion

A hidden gem, Living with the Land offers a peaceful boat tour through Disney’s cutting-edge agricultural innovations. This ride showcases unique gardening techniques, from hydroponics to vertical farming, and explains how they support EPCOT’s dining venues. It’s educational, relaxing, and quintessentially EPCOT.

Pro Tip: Visit during the evening when the greenhouses are beautifully lit.

Rides to Skip at EPCOT

1. Mission: SPACE – World Discovery

While Mission: SPACE offers an astronaut training simulation with impressive technology, it’s notorious for causing motion sickness. Even the less intense green mission can leave some Guests feeling queasy. If you’re prone to motion sickness, you’ll want to skip this one and save yourself some discomfort.

2. The Seas with Nemo & Friends – Seas Pavilion, World Nature

While adorable and family-friendly, The Seas with Nemo & Friends doesn’t offer much beyond a slow-moving retelling of the film. Although younger children might enjoy seeing Nemo and Dory, older Guests may find it underwhelming compared to EPCOT’s more innovative attractions. Consider spending your time exploring Turtle Talk with Crush or the pavilion’s impressive aquariums instead.

3. Journey Into Imagination with Figment – World Celebration

Though Figment is a beloved EPCOT mascot, Journey Into Imagination with Figment often leaves Guests scratching their heads. The ride’s concept of exploring the five senses is promising, but the execution feels dated. Unless you’re a die-hard Figment fan, this one might not be worth your time.

4. Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros – Mexico Pavilion

Hidden within the Mexico Pavilion, this boat ride is a charming experience featuring Donald Duck and the Three Caballeros. While it’s a fun nod to classic Disney characters, the ride lacks the wow factor of other attractions. With so much to explore in World Showcase, you might find yourself skipping this one to enjoy authentic cuisine, live performances, or unique shopping opportunities.

5. Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along – France Pavilion

Housed in the same theater as Impressions de France, the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along offers a quick dose of nostalgia with classic songs. However, the added storyline twist feels unnecessary, and the production value doesn’t quite match other Disney shows. With so many immersive attractions and experiences available, this sing-along doesn’t make the cut for us.

Final Thoughts

EPCOT offers an incredible mix of attractions, blending innovation, storytelling, and cultural exploration. While it’s impossible to experience everything in one day, prioritizing the must-dos and skipping the less impressive attractions can help you maximize your visit.
