Start the Night Before

A successful morning in Walt Disney World starts the night before.   Prepare for a successful morning by doing these important things before going to bed.

First, make sure everything is charged.  The morning will start out stressful if you wake up and realize that your cell phone or smartwatch isn’t fully charged.  These devices are now essential to a successful day in Walt Disney World.  Access to My Disney Experience as well as the ability to snap photos requires that phone to be ready to go.  Get everything plugged in before hitting the pillow.

Next, make sure everyone knows the morning plan.  When do you need to be on Disney transportation and where are you heading?  Having everyone on the same page when they wake up in the morning is key to success.

Think about reviewing the plans so you know if you have any reservations and when those are scheduled for.  By doing this the night before, everyone wakes up ready to go.

Taking time the night before to do these simple steps can make a huge difference in the morning.

Genie+, Individual Lightning Lane, Virtual Queues

The next step that helps Guests have a magical morning at a Disney Park focuses on the decisions around Genie+, Individual Lightning Lane, and Virtual Queues.

This discussion should start the night before.  Start by determining if you are going to be using these features the next day at the Disney Park you’ll be visiting.

If yes, the morning will start with an early alarm.  Guests will need to add Genie+ first prior to 7 am.  At 7 am, Guests are then able to choose their first Genie+ selection as well as Individual Lightning Lane.

Before 7 am, it is important to have Genie+ purchased as well as a clear choice when it comes to which ride will be your first choice.   This might seem extreme but top rides like Slinky Dog Dash in Disney’s Hollywood Studios sees its Genie+ selections go quickly. Time is important if you are choosing top attractions.

Also at 7 am, Guests can make their Individual Lightning Lane selections.   These are rides not included with Genie+.  Guests have to pay for these rides individually in order to skip the lines.

Finally, the newest ride at Walt Disney World is Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT.   Guests can at 7 am choose to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane or join a virtual queue (or both) in order to experience this top ride at Walt Disney World.

As you can see, the morning starts not only early but is also a little stressful if you are choosing to use these features.

Breakfast

A magical morning definitely includes breakfast.   There are a variety of ways to do breakfast when heading to a Disney Park.   Everyone has different needs in the morning so make sure to have a plan for your family.

You can choose to have something small in the room before heading out.  This gets something in everyone’s belly before starting the day.

The Disney Resorts do offer breakfast so if your family needs more than something quick, mobile ordering from the quick service location at your Disney Resort is a great option.

You could choose to wait until you are in a Disney Park.  The downfall here is that breakfast options are limited in the Disney Parks especially if you are looking for protein.   Sweets are easier to find but still not everywhere.

Finally, you could take time to enjoy a table service breakfast.   There are many fantastic breakfast options right now when it comes to table service.

Topolino’s Terrace and Disney’s Contemporary Resort both have fun dining options.  Steakhouse 71 also at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, has an excellent breakfast.   You can get an early breakfast or visit the Disney Park first and then head to breakfast.

No matter which works best for your family, make sure to have a breakfast plan to help make your morning great.

Making Mornings Magical

There are many things that make mornings at Walt Disney World the most magical.  Here is why we love the mornings at Walt Disney World.

As we are in the heat of the summer, we appreciate the mornings as they are cooler.   It is nice to be in the Theme Park before the heat and humidity have built too much.

The mornings are also magical because they are less busy.   Fewer people are willing to set that early alarm and even if they are it isn’t always easy to get out and to the Parks.  This makes the Disney Parks a lot less crowded which is a great time to get on those popular rides with lower wait times.

The mornings are magical because there is something special about being able to watch the magic come to life.   Seeing the Resort and the Disney Park wake up for the first time is special.

We love Disney in the mornings and these are steps we take to have the most magical morning possible. We hope that it will help you do the same during your Walt Disney World trip.
