Come On! Preparing for Frustration in Disney

We would love to think that a trip to Walt Disney World is all magic and pixie dust, but that isn’t reality or the truth.  Even though the majority of the experience is absolutely amazing (otherwise we wouldn’t be going back all the time), there are some frustrations that happen.

As you prepare for a magical Walt Disney World vacation, take time to think through these frustrations so you know what to do when they come up because chances are good that they will.

Transportation Troubles

We love that transportation is free throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.  We love being able to get on a bus or boat and be driven to our destination.  We don’t have to worry about navigating the road signs, remembering where we parked, or paying for parking.

The skyliner and monorail are absolutely fantastic and a great experience during a Walt Disney World vacation.  We love how unique these modes of transportation are and enjoy the experience that they bring as a transportation mode around Walt Disney World.

There are many reasons to be thankful for the Walt Disney World transportation, but that doesn’t mean it is without trouble.

Disney buses are supposed to come every 20-minutes; however, you might come across a random time where you end up waiting longer.  This can be extremely frustrating when you are tired, hot, or hungry.  Use this time to recap the day or process what everyone wants to do next.  We have actually started to use the timer on the phone to keep track of how long we wait, but we use it as a game.  Everyone picked how long they think it will be and the one who is close wins.

If you are needing to get a Disney Resort or a Disney Park for a dining reservation or some other time-sensitive experience, make sure you plan ahead.  Allow for plenty of time for transportation.  Doing this will help make the wait seem a lot less stressful.

It Rains on Your Parade

It would be wonderful if everyone could have perfect weather during their Walt Disney World vacation, but this just isn’t the case.  It does rain and gets stormy in Walt Disney World.

Don’t get frustrated or down if it starts to rain.  Make sure you are ready with rain gear so you can continue to sing in the rain as everyone else rushes for cover.  Take a look at our post HERE about what to do when it rains during your trip.  We also have rides HERE that we think are fun in the rain.

Don’t get frustrated when it rains.  This means lower crowds for you!

Hangry Moments

We all have them and they will show up in Walt Disney World sometimes in the worse way and that is those hangry moments.  You are going so much that sometimes you make the mistake of forgetting to eat.  This is can a major issue as being hangry is no joke.

Try to avoid those hangry moments by thinking ahead.  We often have small snacks such as fruit snacks in our Park bag to help at the moment.

We also recommend thinking ahead and mobile ordering.  If you know that the family will be melting down from being hungry at noon, get on in the morning to reserve your mobile order.  This will not only ensure you a spot, but it will also give everyone the time to sit down and eat.

Hangry moments are not good in Walt Disney World so make sure you have a plan.

So. Many. People

A big frustration that Guests are running process right now in Walt Disney World is the crowds.  The Disney Parks and Disney Resorts are busier than they have been in years.  Because of this, it might feel overwhelming and frustrating to get around and have fun.

Have a plan heading into the Parks so you aren’t always in the masses of people.  Get to a Disney Park early in the morning, take a break when it becomes super busy, and then head back at night.

We have a lot of suggestions on detailing with the crowds and taking breaks on How to Disney so take a look so you are ready.

It Is So HOT

A major frustration that Guests are having right now in Walt Disney World is how hot it is.  We know that people talk about the summer heat and humidity all the time, but it is a real challenge.

When heading down to Walt Disney World, it can become really easy to get frustrated because of the heat and humidity.  Go in with ways to help you and others stay cool.

We highly recommend bringing refillable water bottles for everyone.  Even though you might not want to carry them around, staying hydrated is key.  We also suggest bringing portable fans as well as cooling towels.  These will both help keep your body cool.

Finally, if it is super hot, take breaks.  This might be back at your Resort room or at the Parks, but when it is so hot your body needs time to rest and recover.

It would be wonderful if frustrations and trouble didn’t happen in Walt Disney World, but that isn’t the case.  These frustrations happen to us almost every trip.  Having a plan and being aware of them though helps make them easier to deal with when they come up.
