Why Adults Might Enjoy Disney MORE Than Kids

When most people think of Walt Disney World, they think of little kids and it’s a small world, but there are a lot of aspects of Walt Disney World that adults might enjoy more than kids.

If you have never taken an adults only trip to Walt Disney World, we would highly recommend it.  This type of trip is very different and will allow you to enjoy the Walt Disney World Resort in a different and yet still magical way.

Here are the reasons why we think adults might enjoy Disney more than kids.

Educational Experiences

One area of Walt Disney World that adults might enjoy more than kids is the educational parts.  Kids might not get into all the edu-tainment as it is known in the Disney community, but adults will find these touches interesting and fun.

Living with the Land in EPCOT is a great example of a fun, relaxing ride that teaches Guests about the plants and growing process that EPCOT is experimenting with at the time.

Also in EPCOT, adults will enjoy the many educational films throughout the Park.  Awesome Planet, China 360, and Impressions de France are all amazing films that bring beautiful scenes from around the world to the big screen.  Learn about our planet and other countries while relaxing in air-conditioning.

Good Food and Drinks

Even though many think of hamburgers and hot dogs when they think of Theme Park food, Walt Disney World offers so much more than those basics.

In EPCOT alone adults will appreciate the variety of cultural cuisines that are offered.  The many festivals that come to EPCOT during the year bring a lot of unique and flavorful food that adults will enjoy more than kids.

Adults will also appreciate the drink options through the Disney Parks and Resorts.  From unique beers from around the world to different cocktails, adults will enjoy having a beverage while walking around and enjoying the magic.

Adults will also enjoy some of the signature dining options found throughout the Walt Disney World Resort Property.  From Flying Fish over at the Boardwalk to Jiko at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, there are a handful of very high end dining options throughout Walt Disney World.  These options offer great meals with an outstanding culinary experience.

Nightlife

Adults can also enjoy the evenings at Walt Disney World more than kids.  As most younger kids are heading to be earlier on in the evening, adults can take time to enjoy the nightlife in Walt Disney World.

This might mean enjoying the extended evening hours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom and EPCOT that are offered for Guests at deluxe Disney Resorts.  This allows Guests of these Resorts to stay two hours after closing.

Adults can also enjoy the nightlife at places like Jellyrolls, a dueling piano bar on the Boardwalk as well as Trader Sam’s at Disney’s Polynesian Resort that only allows 21 and older in the evenings.   These places are great for entertainment and drinks late into the night.

Lounges

Lounges in Walt Disney World are another aspect of the magic that adult guests might enjoy more than kids.  There are some fabulous lounges found throughout the Walt Disney World Theme Parks and Resorts that have great drinks, food options and outstanding atmospheres.

Space 220 in EPCOT as well as Steakhouse 71 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort are two new lounges that are on fire right now.  Both locations have wonderful food choices, some delicious food options and a fun and welcoming atmosphere.

Guests can find lounges at a lot of the deluxe Disney Resorts and the theming in them is just excellent.  If Guests are wanting a unique experience, they can also try out Oga’s Cantina at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Lounges are a great way to get out of the crowd while staying in the magic.

Shops

Even though little kids enjoy getting souvenirs at Walt Disney World, adults will enjoy the unique shopping more than the kids will.  We still do love going into the World of Disney and the Emporium at Magic Kingdom, but we also enjoy browsing the unique shops throughout the Parks and Resorts.

In EPCOT, each country offers a unique shop with specialty items unique to their country.  At Disney Springs, there are a variety of fun and unique shops to stop into for some shopping.

Adults will definitely appreciate the unique, smaller shops more than kids will in Walt Disney World.

Hidden Mickeys

All the Detail

Walt Disney World does an absolutely amazing job at all the small details throughout the four Theme Parks and all the Resorts.  Adults can really appreciate all the small details that Disney so carefully works to make magical.  From the hidden Mickeys to the details we see in the queues, Disney goes out of its way to make sure every small detail adds to the story.

The lobbies at the Walt Disney World Resorts are a prime example of this that adults will appreciate.  When stepping into one of Disney’s resorts, you are truly transformed into the theme of that Resort.  It doesn’t matter if it is the African savanna or the French Riviera, Disney’s Resort lobbies with their details are remarkable and adults will love being immersed in that detail.

Adults will appreciate this hard work and dedication more than kids will as they are on their Disney vacation.

These are just a few reasons why adults might enjoy Walt Disney World MORE than kids.  We hope this inspires you to think about an adults only trip in the future so you too can enjoy these things!
