Don’t Miss These Breakfast Spots in Disney’s Animal Kingdom

When planning to visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom, what time of day do you prefer? We adore beginning the day in the Disney Park. Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park is known to be the hottest Disney Park, so mornings provide the perfect opportunity to avoid the heat. It’s beautiful to stroll amongst the trees, take a morning excursion on Kilimanjaro Safaris, escape the yeti on Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, or enjoy a flight through Pandora on Avatar Flight of Passage with a minimal line.
Early mornings in Disney’s Animal Kingdom indeed work up an appetite. But don’t worry; there’s no need to go hungry. There are some excellent restaurants where Guests can grab breakfast in between their exploration of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. You won’t want to miss these Disney dining locations during your next Walt Disney World Resort vacation.
Creature Comforts
You’ll want to visit Creature Comforts to pick up your morning Starbucks Coffee. Located on Discovery Island, the quick-service restaurant is open from 7:30 a.m. Various hot and cold beverages, fresh pastries, and breakfast sandwiches are served here. Are you partial to a cinnamon roll for breakfast? Then this is the place to enjoy a Mickey Colossal Cinnamon Roll for $7.49. Grab one to share or keep for yourself while heading to Kilimanjaro Safaris.
Isle of Java
If you plan to spend your morning in Asia, you’ll want to stop by the Isle of Java. Take a right on Discovery Island towards Dinoland U.S.A., where you’ll find the Disney quick-service restaurant. Isle of Java serves a selection of beverages, including Joffrey’s Coffee. Snacks are also available here, including the Tiger Tail Chocolate Twist. Isle of Java is open from 7:30 a.m. daily.
Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery
Another great place to get your morning coffee is the Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery. This quick-service restaurant in Africa is just a short walk from Kilimanjaro Safaris. It’s also across the street from Mombasa Marketplace and Ziwani Traders. The Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery opens at 8 a.m. It serves hot beverages and a selection of snacks, including a colossal cinnamon roll, fresh fruit cup, and sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit. If you plan to see the first Festival of the Lion King show of the day, stop by this stop for breakfast beforehand.
Pongu Pongu
Are you planning on spending the morning exploring Pandora – The World of Avatar? Visiting this part of Disney’s Animal Kingdom during Early Theme Park Hours minimizes your wait time for attractions. We like to ride Avatar Flight of Passage first and then the Na’vi River Journey. Once you’ve experienced the attractions, it’s time to think about breakfast. You won’t have to venture too far!
Pongu Pongu is found in the heart of Pandora – The World of Avatar. Located next to Windtraders, the Disney quick-service dining location is open from 7:30 a.m. daily. While you won’t be able to order coffee here, there are some excellent breakfast items. Our favorite is the Pongu Lumpia, which are pineapple-cream cheese spring rolls. Enjoy yours for $3.79.
Tamu Tamu Refreshments
Another great quick-service restaurant in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is Tamu Tamu Refreshments. Open from 8 a.m.; the walk-up window is located in the heart of Africa. A selection of hot and cold beverages and a variety of snacks are available. Tamu Tamu Refreshments is the second location in Disney’s Animal Kingdom to get a Mickey Colossal Cinnamon Roll.
Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes
The final quick-service restaurant serving breakfast in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is in Asia. It’s possibly our favorite breakfast spot in the Disney Park too. Yak and Yeti Local Food Cafes open at 9 a.m. daily. The later opening gives you ample time to ride a selection of attractions before eating breakfast. Breakfast items include breakfast bowls, English muffins, yogurt parfait, fruit salad, and hash brown bites. Coffee and juice are also available to order with your breakfast. Once you’ve collected your order, sit in the beautiful outdoor seating area just around the corner.
Tusker House
Are you looking to enjoy a table-service dining experience in Disney’s Animal Kingdom? Then, Tusker House Restaurant is where to dine, especially if you need a Mickey waffle or two. The popular Disney restaurant is located in Africa. Guests can enjoy a breakfast buffet from 8 a.m. Tusker House is a Disney character dining restaurant where you can enjoy your meal in the company of Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck. They’ll be dressed in their safari gear after taking a break from exploring to join you.
Advance dining reservations are highly recommended for Tusker House to guarantee your Disney character meal experience. Breakfast is served from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. daily. Guests dining a little later in the morning can sample the breakfast and lunch buffet.
Rainforest Cafe
Do you plan on taking advantage of Early Theme Park Entry ride the popular attractions in Disney’s Animal Kingdom before leaving the Disney Park mid-morning? Then you probably won’t be considering eating inside the theme park. The Rainforest Cafe could be a great place to visit on your way out of Disney’s Animal Kingdom instead before heading to your Disney Resort hotel or another Disney theme park. Breakfast is served in the full-service restaurant between 8:30 a.m. and 10:25 a.m. The extensive menu features entrees that will suit everyone. Choose from classic breakfast entrees to brunch classics and sandwiches. You can even order Tonga Toast here to save you from having to make your way to Kona Cafe in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
