Think Disney is Just for Kids? Not So Fast

Many people have the misconception that Walt Disney World is just for kids. Although Walt Disney World is perfect for families and kids, it is also a fantastic place for adults.

Let’s dive into why Walt Disney World isn’t just for kids so you can plan your Walt Disney World adult vacation.

Le Cellier Steakhouse

Dining

Walt Disney World isn’t just chicken nuggets and hot dogs. There are top dining experiences throughout the four Disney Parks, Disney Resorts, and Disney Springs. If you want to experience excellent, relaxing meals, there are many options for you to choose from.

At Disney Springs, adults can enjoy meals by award-winning chefs at restaurants such as Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ and Morimoto Asia. Both offer a high dining experience with delicious entrees and drinks.

In EPCOT, those wanting a nicer dining experience can enjoy a meal at Le Cellier, where they can have delicious steaks and fantastic sides. These high-end meals can also be enjoyed at California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Flying Fish over on the Boardwalk, or at Disney’s Riveria with a meal at Topolino’s Terrace.

Disney also has numerous lounges throughout the Parks and Resorts that are fantastic places for Guests to enjoy a drink and a small bite to eat. From exciting and high-energy lounges such as Oga’s Cantenna at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to the elegant and sophisticated experience in Enchanted Rose at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the lounges are designed for the adults visiting Walt Disney World who want a good drink and a quiet place to relax.

Sautil Canteen

Even if you don’t want a sit-down meal, you won’t have to have chicken nuggets or hot dogs throughout your vacation. Disney works hard at their quick survive locations to provide unique entrees for Guests to enjoy. Sat’uli Canteen at Disney’s Animal Kingdom provides fresh protein bowls. At Columbia Harbour House in Magic Kingdom, Guests can enjoy a lobster roll or shrimp.

If you think that the food at Walt Disney World will only be for kids, this isn’t the case. There are excellent dining options throughout Walt Disney World that even grown-ups will find impressive.

Disney Resorts

The Walt Disney World Resort hotels, add to the Disney magic. Because Disney has so many Resorts to choose from, there are ones for every taste and style. Although there are Resorts such as Disney’s Art of Animation that appeal to kids with larger-than-life icons of Ariel, Simba, and other Disney characters, Disney Resorts also appeal to adults traveling.

If you are looking for an elegant, relaxing vacation, consider staying at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa or Disney’s Riviera Resort. These two Resorts have theming that is relaxing, elegant, and welcoming. It is not over-the-top Disney for those that don’t want Mickey everywhere. They provide great amenities such as dining, pools, lounges, and the Grand Floridian even has a spa.

For those looking for a tropical getaway, consider a stay at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is a fantastic option if you want a cozy, remote location.

The Disney Resorts aren’t just filled with Mickey Mouse. You can find elegant, relaxing themes throughout the Disney Resorts that will allow those adults that aren’t 100% in on Disney a nice escape when not in the Disney Parks.

Rides

It might surprise some that Walt Disney World does have rides that adults will love. Walt Disney World has something for everyone, from those wanting thrills to those needing an immersive experience.

If you have adults looking for thrills, ensure they experience the newest ride at Walt Disney World. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT is an indoor coaster with a reverse launch and a ride system that keeps Guests constantly in action. Are you traveling this spring or summer? Don’t miss out on TRON: Lightcyle Run opening in Magic Kingdom in April. Many adults will enjoy many thrill rides throughout the four Disney Parks.

EPCOT is a beautiful place to experience some great entertainment. Voices of Liberty at the American Pavilion is an acapella group that sings patriotic songs. Also in EPCOT is Mariachi Cobre, a lively group that plays folk music. Don’t miss out on Jamminators, a nontraditional group that uses items such as trash cans to create music.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios has a variety of shows such as Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage, For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along, and the high-paced Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular.

Festivals

Our final look at why Disney isn’t just for kids is because of the festivals that take place throughout the year at EPCOT. Festivals provide Guests with additional cuisine and drinks from around the world. Additional live music and beautiful decorations bring these festivals to EPCOT.

Adults will love the unique small plates they can enjoy as they casually stroll around the World Showcase. Festivals are designed for adults who enjoy food and entertainment.
