Weather Items

We would love Walt Disney World to always be sunny and the perfect temperate when we visit. The reality is, though, that this doesn’t happen very often. It rains, it is humid and hot, and during the winter months, it can get cold.

Start by checking and rechecking the weather before you head down to know what layers you need to have packed. Once you have done that, then also make sure you have these necessary items packed as well.

Rain Gear

It doesn’t matter what the weather app says. Rain is always possible at Walt Disney World. Be ready for those rain storms that pop up suddenly by having rain gear packed. Make sure you have a rain jacket or poncho for everyone. Also, consider bringing an umbrella. These can allow you to manage the rain in the Parks.

Protection From the Sun

Make sure that you pack items to help protect you from the sun. Having sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats is essential for protecting yourself from the sun. Also, having individual fans and cooling towels during the hot and humid summer months is so important. Being able to keep your body cool while in the Parks is vital to being able to enjoy the magic and stay healthy.

Layers

Finally, if you are traveling during the winter months, make sure that you bring layers. Have a coat along with mittens, hats, and even a scarf. Being cold in a Disney Park isn’t fun. These items can keep you happy while you wait for the evening shows.

Electronics

Staying connected and charged has become even more critical during a Disney vacation. Charging phones is essential with the increasing need to use My Disney Experience.

Portable Chargers

First, you will want to ensure that you pack portable chargers for everyone with a cell phone. Cell phone batteries die quickly in Walt Disney World with all the picture taking, My Disney Experience use, and the wifi connection issues. If you plan to navigate the day at the Park, you will want a portable charger to ensure that battery remains full.

Power Cord/Charging Block

Although Disney has done a fantastic job adding more charging options in the Resort rooms, with so much to charge at night, you will probably still want to bring a power cord or a charging block. Having these in the room will help ensure you have enough spots to charge everything from phones to apple watches to the new MagicBand+.

Small Fan/Noise Machine

Many Guests enjoy having a small fan or noise maker in their Disney Resort. There is a lot of noise that happens at Disney Resort. From excited kids in the mornings heading to the Parks to families coming home after fireworks. If you think this extra noise will bother you, consider purchasing a small fan or noise machine to bring along with you.

Medical Items

Even though we hope that there won’t be any issues while in Disney and everything will be magical, even bumps and bruises happen in the magic. Be ready by bringing these items with you.

Chaffing Stick

With so much walking in the heat and humidity, you will have places that rub. Bring along a chaffing stick to help when this happens. We suggest bringing these with you to the Parks. By having it with you, you can easily use it when those spots start to bother you.

Bandaids/Moleskin

Blisters happen; it doesn’t matter how prepared you are with your shoes. Provide yourself relief by bringing blister bandages or moleskin. Covering those blisters can allow you to keep moving and walking.

Chapsticks

You will also want to make sure to have chapstick with you. Lips get dried out with all the heat and humidity. Also, keep them protected from the sun by ensuring your chapstick has SPF protection.

Other Items

There are a few other items that you will want to make sure you bring along with you to help make your Disney trip more enjoyable.

Water Bottle

Save money by bringing your favorite water bottle with you to Disney. Keep yourself hydrated by using the refill stations throughout the Parks or get free ice water from specific quick service locations. Skip paying for bottled water in the Parks.

Slip Shorts

Ladies will want to wear slip shorts under their dresses and skirts. Having these can help keep your legs happy with all the walking and keep you comfortable as you get in and out of the rides.

Shoes

Finally, make sure that you bring the best walking shoes possible. We love cute shoes, but if you aren’t able to walk a lot in them, they aren’t made for Disney. Make sure you bring shoes that you have broken into before. Don’t purchase new shoes and bring them to Walt Disney World.

Make sure you have shoes that you have broken in those shoes before you arrive. Your feet with thank you.

Those are the main items you will want to bring with you to Walt Disney World. We hope this list will help you prepare for a magical trip.
