The BEST Places to Watch the Fireworks at Magic Kingdom

Any day that ends with Disney fireworks is magical. The nighttime spectaculars are one of the most magical experiences in the Walt Disney World Resort. Currently, there are three nighttime shows to enjoy in Lake Buena Vista. Disney’s Hollywood Studios features Fantasmic! in the Hollywood Hills Amiptheatre every evening. Over in EPCOT, Guests gather around World Showcase Lagoon to view EPCOT Forever. Finally, Happily Ever After lights up the sky over Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom Park.

Happily Ever After combines stunning arrangements of favorite Disney songs with impressive fireworks and beautiful projections on Cinderella Castle and down Main Street, U.S.A. Look to the sky, and you may see a Hidden Mickey. A very special fairy also takes flight during the show. The nighttime spectacular is a truly unbelievable experience.

Although you can experience fireworks throughout the Walt Disney World Resort Property, there are a few top places if you are looking for the best spot with a fireworks view. These spots provide Guests with the ultimate viewing experience. Here are the best places to watch Happily Ever After inside Magic Kingdom Park.

Main Street, U.S.A.

For the best view of the entire nighttime show, Main Street, U.S.A., is the place to watch Happily Ever After. The Hub in front of Cinderella Castle offers an excellent place to see the projections that help to tell the story of Happily Ever After. It’s a place that fills up quickly, though, so you should plan to secure your viewing spot at least forty-five minutes before showtime.

Since returning to Magic Kingdom Park this year, Happily Ever After has featured new projections on the Main Street, U.S.A. buildings. Find your spot alongside the Emporium to enjoy the new feature. The top of Main Street, U.S.A., near the Main Street Confectionary, or at the Main Street Train Station, will allow you to enjoy Happily Ever After from a distance and admire all the show’s features.

Fantasyland

It may seem surprising, but Fantasyland offers a beautiful and unique view of the fireworks behind Cinderella Castle. Even though you won’t see the projections, watching the fireworks light up Fantasyland is amazing. Consider watching from near Gaston’s Tavern; you’ll see the fireworks above Cinderella Castle and Beast’s Castle. Alternatively, watch from near the Tangled bathrooms or around Prince Charming’s Regal Carousel. Enjoy the beauty of the fireworks from these locations.

On Rides

If you’re hoping for some thrills while watching the fireworks, you should consider watching Happily Ever After from a Magic Kingdom attraction. Outdoor rides offer a great view of the fireworks in the Disney Park. Riding attractions during the fireworks is also a great way to avoid crowds and experience shorter line times.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad or Seven Dwarf’s Mine Train are the two attractions we choose to ride during the fireworks when looking for thrills. Feel the wind rushing passed you as the fireworks light up the sky. The Tomorrowland Speedway, Transit Authority PeopleMover, and Dumbo the Flying Elephant are excellent choices for a more relaxing ride.

Liberty Square

When you watch Happily Ever After from around Magic Kingdom Park, you begin to appreciate the strategic placement of where fireworks are launched from. Liberty Square is generally a quiet place to enjoy the Magic Kingdom fireworks. Stroll towards Haunted Mansion or pause on the rope bridge walkway connecting Liberty Square to Frontierland. You’ll have a beautiful view of the fireworks over Tom Sawyer Island and Haunted Mansion.

Outside of Magic Kingdom

You may also consider viewing the Disney fireworks show outside the Disney Parks. Doing so is a great way to enjoy a relaxing evening or begin your Disney experience on your first evening in the Walt Disney World Resort. Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort are excellent places to see the Magic Kingdom fireworks show. We love to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort beach or Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort marina across Seven Seas Lagoon. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort is also a secret spot to enjoy the fireworks across Bay Lake.
