Here’s How to Secure The Best Viewing Spot for Happily Ever After

Are you ready to begin? The return of Happily Ever After to the Walt Disney World Resort is almost here. The beloved nighttime spectacular begins showing in Magic Kingdom Park on April 3. If you’re anything like us, you cannot wait to experience the magic and wonder of the beloved Disney fireworks show. Prepare to cry happy tears, sing along, and wonder at the beauty of the projections on Cinderella Castle.

So how do you secure the best viewing spot for Happily Ever After in Magic Kingdom? Follow these tips, and you’ll have the most magical Disney experience to complete a day in the Disney Park.

Plan where you want to view the show from

You can view Happily Ever After from many spots in Magic Kingdom Park. Ultimately, the best view is seen from the Hub in front of Cinderella Castle to see the entire show. Viewing is also excellent from Main Street, U.S.A., especially with the projections on the Main Street buildings as a new addition to the nighttime spectacular. Another great spot to view the Magic Kingdom fireworks is the Main Street train station. Guests can view Happily Ever After from the second floor of the train station every evening.

The Happily Ever After fireworks can also be viewed around Magic Kingdom Park. Fantasyland offers a unique view of the fireworks. You can also view them from Liberty Square. It is rather special to watch them light up the sky above the Rivers of America and the Haunted Mansion. Viewing the Magic Kingdom fireworks from around the Disney Park is ideal for Guests who wish to take advantage of shorter line times and those who have already seen the show.

Wherever you decide to watch the Disney fireworks from, make plans in your day for Happily Ever After. You’ll be glad you set aside time to watch this beautiful display on and over Cinderella Castle.

Find your spot early

Happily Ever After is a favorite amongst Walt Disney World Resort Guests. As such, you’ll need to secure your viewing location ahead of showtime, especially if you want an unobstructed view. The area around Partners is a popular location for Guests to view the fireworks, as it offers a seating area while you wait. The rest of the Hub in front of Cinderella Castle will fill up quickly and early in the evening. This is the place that offers a view of Cinderella Castle without lighting and speakers obstructing your view.

Walkways are created at the top of Main Street, U.S.A., with white tape to keep Guests moving in the lead-up to and during Happily Ever After. Just inside the white tape are popular viewing locations with Guests, as they won’t have Guests right in front of them when watching the nighttime spectacular.

If you wish to view Happily Ever After from the Main Street train station, you’ll want to get there early, so you are at the front of the railings. Try to avoid standing further back as the station ceiling will provide some obstruction of the larger fireworks above Cinderella Castle.

Timing-wise, arriving at your viewing spot at least an hour before showtime is recommended. For more popular locations, such as near Partners, you’ll want to find your spot at least ninety minutes before showtime.

Eat dinner while waiting for the show to begin

Securing your fireworks viewing location ahead of showtime can work well with eating. If you visit Walt Disney World alone, you’ll want to get your meal before finding your spot. Order your meal from a quick-service restaurant within Magic Kingdom, then take it to your viewing location and enjoy.

If you are traveling as part of a group, it will work well to find your Happily Ever After viewing location first. Place a mobile order at one of the quick-service locations in Magic Kingdom, then collect your order. If you plan on dining in a full-service restaurant earlier in the evening, waiting for Happily Ever After is the perfect opportunity for a post-dinner treat. We love visiting the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor and indulging in hand-scooped ice cream with chocolate buttons as Mickey ears.

Take it in turns

While you can’t do this when visiting alone, if you are in a group taking turns to mind your viewing location helps to pass the time a little quicker. Maybe some of your party will ride some of the Magic Kingdom Park attractions? Or a couple of you can get food before swapping over. Also, consider taking turns browsing the gift stores and purchasing any souvenirs you wish to take home. Don’t forget to visit the restroom ahead of showtime. You don’t want to miss any of the nighttime spectacular.

Consider a Fireworks Dessert Party

How does a view of the fireworks accompanied by delicious desserts and your choice of beverage sound? Upgrade your nighttime spectacular viewing by reserving a Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party. Guests of the Dessert Parties will guarantee a private table with seating at the Tomorrowland Terrace. Dessert Parties begin around an hour before showtime. Guests can help themselves to hot and cold beverages and a selection of uniquely themed desserts right up to showtime. Then, sit and enjoy a perfect view of Happily Ever After over Cinderella Castle. Look high to the sky as Tinker Bell flies above during the show.
