Disney Resort Overview

Before we get into the best Resorts, let’s do a quick overview of Disney Resorts. Walt Disney World Resort offers three categories when it comes to its Resorts. Those three categories are Value Resorts, Moderate Resorts, and Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts. Each category provides a different prices point along with various amenities for Guests.

Take time to set a budget first. Doing this before looking at the Walt Disney World Resorts will help you narrow down which category will fit your budget.

Let’s jump into what Disney Resorts will be the best for you in 2023.

Walt Disney World Monorail

Best Location

If you want to stay close to the Disney Parks, we recommend three Resorts sets for 2023. These will be both the Disney Skyliner, Disney Monorail Resorts, and the EPCOT area Resorts.

Monorail Resorts

There are three monorail Resorts to choose from at Walt Disney World. Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Resort, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa are all located on the monorail line giving Guests quick and easy access to Magic Kingdom.

If you have a Magic Kingdom-focused vacation, we highly recommend looking at one of these three excellent deluxe Resorts. Each of these three Resorts has recently sent updated rooms giving Guests fresh, new rooms for their stay. All three Resorts also provide excellent dining options with both quick-service and table-service options for Guests. With great pools, Guests will enjoy all three of these Resorts.

A bonus with the monorail Resorts is that you can see the fireworks from the Resorts and the Electrical Water Pagent on Seven Seas Lagoon.

Skyliner Resorts

For those wanting to spend more time at either EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we recommend looking into the Disney Skyliner Resorts. There are Resorts at each price point that have access to the Skyliner.

Pop Century is an excellent value Resort that provides access to the Skyliner at a lower price. Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is the central hub for the Skyliner and a moderate Resort. Disney’s Riveria Resort is a deluxe Resort that provides access to the Skyliner. For quick and easy access to both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, one of these three Resorts will be fantastic in 2023.

EPCOT Area Resorts

Another way to easily access both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios is to stay at one of the EPCOT area Resorts. Disney’s Boardwalk Inn or either Disney’s Yacht or Beach Club Resort all provide walking paths to these two Disney Parks.

Excellent location and fantastic pools and dining make these three Disney Resorts top picks for 2023.

A Quiet Escape

You may not think that you will find a quiet escape at Walt Disney World, but we have two Disney Resorts that we recommend. Our first suggestion would be to try out Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. This deluxe Resort is just a quick boat ride away from Magic Kingdom, but it will feel like a world away. This Resort is a nice, quiet escape from the chaos. Great lounges, dining, and pools are perfect for a vacation day.

Our other option for a relaxing Resort is Fort Wilderness. This Resort also provides a boat ride to Magic Kingdom, but you would never know you were in the middle of Walt Disney World here. You can choose to camp or stay in one of the remote cabins.

These two Disney Resorts are perfect if you want a nice, quiet place to relax outside the Disney Parks.

Best Food

One of the great things about Walt Disney World Resorts is that many provide fantastic dining options. If you plan to spend some meal times at your Disney Resort, you should make sure you pick a Resort that meets your dining needs.

The value Resorts only provide large food court options. If this works for your family, we recommend looking at Pop Century. Everything Pop is a large food court with various entree options. From iconic Mickey Waffles in the morning to chicken nuggets for dinner, both big and little kids will find something they’ll enjoy here.

For Resorts with a variety of food options, look at some of the deluxe Resorts. Animal Kingdom Lodge offers two fantastic table service restaurants that focus on Africa-inspired dishes and beautiful views of the savanna.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort has a large variety of dining options as well. From Contempo Cafe, the quick service location, to the signature dining option with California Grill, there is something for every occasion.

You will want to ensure that the Resort you choose has dining that will fit your needs. These are some of our favorites.

Determining where to stay at Walt Disney World is a big decision. You must make sure you pick something that will work for you and the group you are traveling with. Start with your budget. Once you know what you are willing to spend, you can narrow down which Disney Resort will work the best.

Think about what is essential to your group and use that to help pick the next Disney Resort.
