No To Miss Experiences For Kids at Disney

Walt Disney World is designed with kids in mind.  In each of Disney’s four Theme Parks, there are rides, shows, and characters to appeal to kids.  With that in mind, we are going to look at a few not to miss experiences in each of the four Disney Parks for kids.

Some of these you might already be aware of whereas others might be a new discovery.

EPCOT

EPCOT is the one Disney Park that seems to get the reputation that it isn’t for kids or that kids won’t have fun in EPCOT.  We don’t believe this is the case.  EPCOT has a lot of great areas and experiences for kids to enjoy while visiting, and they might even learn something along the way.

The Seas Pavilion

Over in the Seas Pavilion, kids will have a fantastic time exploring the amazing aquarium. Here they can see dolphins, manatees, and even sea turtles.  There is so much to see throughout these aquariums, kids will be so engaged with it all.

Also in this pavilion is the fun Turtle Talk with Crush.  This is a fantastic interactive show featuring Crush from Finding Nemo.  Kids are able to ask Crush all about being a sea turtle and the ocean.  It is a great experience and a fun way for kids to learn a little as well.

Kidcot Fun Stop

Located throughout World Showcase are Kidcot Fun Spots.  Here kids are able to stop at the designated area to learn about the culture of that country.  They are given some take-home souvenirs or they can often enjoy a coloring sheet or other small craft as well.

We can’t wait for the Cultural Representatives to return to these countries.  There is something truly special about learning about a country from a local.

Scavenger Hunt

Disney has started to provide scavenger hunts at each of the festivals.  These have Guests searching for different items such as Remy or Spike the Bee throughout the World Showcase.  They are able to mark it off on their chart and then earn a prize for completing it.

We love these hunts around EPCOT and enjoy how they are themed differently each festival to keep it fun.

Play Areas

Finally, we love the play areas in EPCOT.  If you aren’t aware, there are playgrounds in EPCOT that kids can just run around and have a great time on.  Near the new Creations Shop and Eartry, you can find an outdoor play area.  This is so much fun for kids and has seating areas for parents.

There are also indoor play areas.  Many of the rides throughout EPCOT offer play areas at the exit.  The “What If’ Labs after Figment or the games after Spaceship Earth both offer activities that will keep kids busy.

Disney Junior Play and Dance Party

If you have small children then they will be thrilled to see some of their favorite Disney Junior friends over at the Disney Junior Play and Dance Party.  Kids are able to dance around and have a great time during this show.

After the show, check out the meet-and-greets so your little one can hug and get autographs from Fancy Nancy, Doc McStuffins, or even Vamperina.

Toy Story Land

A trip to Disney’s Hollywood Studios wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Andy’s backyard.  Kids will love seeing their favorite friends from Toy Story nice and big throughout the land.  Enjoy competing together on Toy Story Mania, take in all the amazing details, or grab something to eat at Woody’s Lunch Box.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

There is so much for kids to explore in Disney’s Animal Kingdom that it is often hard to fit it all in.

Wilderness Explorers

We highly recommend doing the Wilderness Explorer activity as you visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom.  This is a self-guided tour around Disney’s Animal Kingdom that has kids, and adults, completing activities and learning.  Start by getting a handbook from the headquarters and then you are on your way to a wilderness adventure.

The Boneyard

Found in DinoLand U.S.A., The Boneyard is an outdoor play area for kids.  Here they get to explore like a paleontologist as they search for dinosaur bones.  This is a huge play area and can entertain kids for hours so plan ahead.

Animals

This might seem obvious, the all of the animals that make Disney’s Animal Kingdom home are very entertaining for kids.  Take time to ride Kilimanjaro Safari, visit the Gorilla Trails, or even just stop and watch the otters.  There are so many amazing animals to find.

Magic Kingdom

There are so many great rides found in Magic Kingdom for kids.  There are a few we want to remind you of though.

Dumbo Ride

Dumbo the Flying Elephant

Although this ride is often a must-do on everyone’s list, make sure you also add the play area.  The queue for Dumbo has an amazing indoor playground that is super fun.  Kids love that they are able to play instead of standing in line.  Just keep in mind they might not want to leave.

Tom Sawyer Island

Tom Sawyer Island

A raft ride away in Frontierland is Tom Sawyer Island.  Here an adventure awaits around every corner.  They are so many trails, hidden caves, and places to discover on the island.  Kids will be excited to find new hidden secrets.

We all are aware that Walt Disney World has experiences for kids, but we hope that these will help you find a new one that your kids might enjoy during your next Walt Disney World vacation.
