Tranquil Spots Around Disney To Experience Magic

When you think about Walt Disney World, calm and relaxing might not be the first words that come to mind.  With so many people and the rush to experience all the rides, shows, and attractions relaxing isn’t always what we experience during our Walt Disney World vacations.

The truth is that even with all the millions of Guests rushing around the Walt Disney World Resort property there are still tranquil spots to enjoy.  These places are often quiet, secluded, and truly magical.

A beautiful view combined with some quiet can give you a true moment of peace during a Walt Disney World vacation.  Even though we don’t want to share all of our secret places, there are some amazing tranquil spots to be enjoyed at Walt Disney World.

We hope that you will be able to find some time during your vacation to slow down and enjoy these hidden gems so you too can experience the magic they offer.

Tom Sawyer Island

Tom Sawyer Island- Disney’s Magic Kingdom

It might surprise you that there are hidden, quiet places even in Disney’s busiest Park.  Over in Frontierland, Guests can take a raft over to Tom Sawyer Island.  Once on the island, there are many different areas where quiet and peace can be experienced.

With all the dark caves, forts, bridges, and play areas, there are tons of places to escape the noise of Magic Kingdom.  Aunt Polly’s, the quick-service location on the island, isn’t always open to Guests but there is a covered porch with a lot of seating.  This is a fantastic area to relax, look out over Magic Kingdom and enjoy the moment.

Guests can enjoy unique views of rides such as Big Thunder Mountain, the queue for Haunted Mansion, and of course the Liberty Belle Riverboat as it goes by.

If you are looking for a tranquil spot within the Magic Kingdom, we highly recommend heading over to Tom Sawyer’s Island.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower

These two Disney Resorts might not be top of your list as you think about tranquil spots to visit at Disney.  With the monorail and Chef Mickey’s the Contemporary does get extremely busy and noisy; however, there are a few hidden spots to enjoy some quiet.

The first area that we are going to suggest visiting for a tranquil escape is the outdoor patio/balcony located on the far north end of the Grand Concourse.  This is an excellent spot to catch a few looks at Magic Kingdom away from the crowd.

Another great spot to find some peace is the Sky Way Bridge that connects these two Disney Resorts.  Guests are able to enjoy beautiful views of Magic Kingdom, Bay Lake, as well as Seven Seas Lagoons, and the other Disney Resorts around the lagoon.

This is a fantastic location to catch some of the Magic Kingdom fireworks or even the Electrical Water Pageant that happens on the lagoon.  Keep in mind that the monorail is around so it isn’t always quiet, but it is peaceful.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

If there ever was a Disney Resort designed to be tranquil Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge would be a top example.  There are many different viewing spots hidden throughout the Resort that are perfect for watching the savannah and enjoying the animals.

Take time to explore the Resort to find your favorite hidden spot.  There are many spots that are covered and provide rocking chairs and shade.

Take time to explore the Resort and enjoy the beauty and tranquil atmosphere that it provides.

Fort Wilderness Trails

All around Fort Wilderness Guests can enjoy the tranquil feeling of nature.  Bring those walking shoes and take time to explore all the trails and beauty that Fort Wilderness provides.

Even though Fort Wilderness is a short boat ride away from Magic Kingdom, it truly feels like you are worlds away.  The remoteness can convince you that are actually in the middle of a campground instead of Walt Disney World.

Find a lounge chair to rest in after you walk the trails and enjoy the sounds of nature all around you.

World Showcase

For those that have been in EPCOT’s World Showcase you are probably questioning us as you read that we consider World Showcase tranquil.  We agree that the main path where all the food booths and entertainment are located isn’t overly tranquil.  Where find our hidden quiet places is back in the countries.

We love exploring the gorgeous gardens in the UK, Canada, and Japan Pavilions.  These gardens are absolutely stunning and so peaceful.  It is so nice to grab our favorite beverage, wander back to these gardens and just enjoy the beauty and peace.

Take some time to step away from the main road of World Showcase and enjoy these gorgeous hidden areas.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Trails

Another great place to find some quiet moments during a busy day in a Disney Park is at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.  Throughout Disney Park, there are some amazing trails that offer quiet hidden spots.

Our favorite spot is located around the Tree of Life on the Discovery Island Trail.  We love searching for animals on the Tree of Life while quietly walking around.  It is a nice way to step away from the crowd without having to leave the Park.

You probably don’t think tranquil when you think of Walt Disney World.  We hope that by bringing these quiet and peaceful areas to your attention, you will be able to find some tranquil moments during your next Walt Disney World vacation.
