What’s In Our Disney Park Bag

When we first started going to Walt Disney World, we were the ones that brought a huge backpack to the Disney Parks with everything imaginable in it.  Not only did we not use it all, but it became really heavy throughout the long days in the Theme Parks.

Now, we have narrowed down what we bring into the Disney Parks to help keep our backs from getting so tired, but also make sure we have the essentials we need throughout the day.

Let’s dive into what Disney packing goes into our Disney Park bag!

Masks

This is a new addition to our Disney Park bag in the last few years as we take a Disney vacation.  With the current requirement that all Guests ages two and up wear masks while inside, we like to make sure we have extra masks with us.

It is nice to have extra masks for everyone in case they get wet, dirty or lost throughout the day.  We also bring different masks (disposable vs cloth) so we can change if we are starting to feel uncomfortable.

We toss a few extra masks in a ziploc making it easy to find in our bag and keeping them protected from the elements.

Hand Sanitizer

Hand Sanitizer and Wipes

We have always been ones that have our own hand sanitizer and wipes with us in the Parks.  We like being able to access these items whenever we need.

Our hand sanitizer actually clips to the outside of our bag so we can easily access it when coming off a ride, getting ready to eat or just when we feel the need to use some.  This makes it so easy to find instead of having to dig throughout our bag.

Wipes are super helpful for messes that happen when eating those delicious Mickey bars for cleaning off a spot to eat (EPCOT trash cans anyone?).

Although Walt Disney World does a great job at having hand sanitizer around and keeping surfaces cleaned up, we just like having these items with us at all times.

Sunscreen

Sunscreen is an item we always have in our park bag for Walt Disney World no matter when we are traveling.  Even if you think it is going to be cold and rainy, make sure you toss a travel sunscreen just in case.

The sun in Florida is really intense and even on rainy days it sneaks out and causes discomfort.  We like to make sure we are protected by having some sunscreen with us in the Disney Parks.  This also allows us to reapply throughout the day as well.

rain gear

Rain Gear

Having rain gear with us in the Theme Parks each day is another way we prepare for the weather in Walt Disney World.  Even though it might not say a chance of rain, we like to have an umbrella or rain jacket with us just in case.

Random pop up rain storms happen all the time in Walt Disney World and as I don’t like to be wet, I prefer to have rain gear with me each day in the Parks.

Lip Balm

Something that might catch you off guard is how much your lips dry out in the humidity of Florida. To help keep them protected from the sun and moisturized, make sure you throw in some lip balm. This will make you feel so much better than chapped lips during vacation.

We have found this to be even more important while wearing masks throughout the day.  Our lips become even more dry than ever before.  Keep that lip balm in a side pocket so you can easily access it throughout the day.

Water Bottle

Staying hydrated is so important in the Walt Disney World parks.  It is easy to forget to drink water when we are busy rushing from ride to ride.  Keep everyone hydrated by bringing refillable water bottles.

Pick out a fun water bottle to bring along with you into the theme parks, and then keep filling it up throughout the day. This is a great way to save money, so you don’t end up buying a lot of bottled water. Keep in mind that you can get water from quick service locations and at the refilling stations.

Portable Chargers

No more than ever before, keeping our cell phones charged is extremely important.  With the induction of Disney Genie and Genie+, we are on our phones a lot in the Disney Parks.  You don’t want to be stuck in Magic Kingdom not able to make your next Genie+ selection because of a dead phone.

Make sure you have portable chargers and cords to charge your phone as you go throughout the day. You will be surprised how quickly it drains in the parks, so be prepared.

Sunglasses

It can be super easy to forget sunglasses when heading to a Disney Theme Park, but they are so important.  Being outside all day, sunglasses are super important for keeping your eyes protected.

Have an extra pair tossed in your backpack just in case you forget to grab them in the morning as you head out for the day.  Squinting in the sun can cause lots of headaches which isn’t any fun.

Fan

This might seem silly, but we have started to make sure we always have a portable fan with us in our Park bag. Having some air movement during the heat of the day can make or break how we feel. There are so many small, portable ones that we find easy to carry with us.

Those are the top items that we keep in our Disney Park Bag.  We hope this helps you prepare for your Walt Disney World trip and keeps that Park bag a little lighter.
