Slow Down

First and foremost, if you do get sick while on vacation slow down.  Your body won’t be able to recover if you don’t allow it to rest.  We know that it is hard to skip out on Park days, dining reservations, and magical experiences you have spent time and money on.

Unfortunately, the reality is that if you get sick while on vacation, you do need to shut it down and let your body relax.  This is truly the most important step to healing.

Get Supplies

When you start to feel run down and not 100%, make sure that you have items to help you feel better.  There are many companies that deliver to Disney Resorts.  Place an order with Amazon Prime Now, Walmart, or Instacart.

Have bottled water, Gatorade, crackers, and other items delivered to your Disney Resort.  Having these items on hand can help you start to feel better faster.  We all love those Mickey Bars, but when you aren’t 100%, having some other options is a good call.

First Aid Centers

If you do start feeling sick while at one of the four Disney Parks, head to one of the First Aid Centers.  These centers have certified nurses that will be able to help you process what you need to do to get to feeling better.

The first aid centers are stocked with over-the-counter medicine, bandages, and other minor medical assistance that might be needed.  These stations are a great spot to step away from the heat and the crowd and evaluate what is going on.

Don’t skip out on using the first aid centers and the amazing nurses that are there to help you.

Medication

When you visit a first aid station, the nurse will be able to provide you with a single dose of medication that might help your issues.  You are also able to purchase additional doses at hour Disney Resort and even at some of the Disney stores behind the counters.

Walt Disney World will have a variety of over-the-counter medication throughout the Resorts and Parks to help with some of those basic illnesses such as GI issues or allergies.  Use these to help you start to feel better.

Prescription Medicine

We might like to think that Walt Disney World is in a bubble, but that isn’t the case.  If you are in need of a prescription, you are able to have this delivered to your Disney Resort and even the First Aid Centers in the Disney Parks.  The company that provides this service is Turner Drugs.

This is a great service if you are needed a prescription refilled, forgot a prescription at home, or need medicine for an illness.  Make sure to get an itemized receipt so you are able to claim the purchase with your insurance.  This means that you will be paying a higher cost as well as a delivery fee for your prescriptions.

Turner Drugs is a great service that can really help out when medical issues come up at Walt Disney World.
