What October Is Bringing to Walt Disney World
A new month always brings new fun and excitement at Walt Disney World. If you are heading to Walt Disney World this month, you will want to know what magic will be coming in October. Being aware of these things will help you have a successful trip.
Halloween Season is Present
Even though Halloween started in August, we are still excited about it in October. Magic Kingdom is decorated for fall with exceptional fall items such as pumpkins and more.
For those vast Halloween fans, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party continues to take place throughout the week. This is a special ticketed event that Guests can choose to add to their Disney vacation. Guests that attend the Halloween party get to trick or treat and experience the Boo To You Halloween Parade, the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, and the fantastic firework show.
If you aren’t attending the party, ensure you are still aware of when the parties are being held during your trip. This is important to know as Magic Kingdom closes to regular Park Guests typically at 6 pm on the nights of the party. If this is your only day at Magic Kingdom, you will miss out on evening time in the Park and fireworks.
The Halloween season also brings all the seasonal treats. You can enjoy everything apple and pumpkin at the Disney Parks and throughout the Disney Resorts.
Enjoy all the fun fall and Halloween celebrations for those visiting during October.
Characters Return
We are thrilled that even more of our favorite Disney characters are returning to restaurants around the Walt Disney World Resort. Having more character meals to choose from during a Disney vacation is excellent.
One meal where characters have once again returned is over at Cape May Cafe located at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Minnie Mouse and her friends, typically Donald, Daisy, and Goofy, were again ready for the beach as they returned to breakfast on October 4th. This is a buffet-style breakfast.
Breakfast is $45 per adult and $29 per child. The buffet offers a combination of biscuits and gravy, carving stations, an omelet station, waffles, and french toast.
Over at the Magic Kingdom, Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore all return to Crystal Palace. They like their sleep as even though breakfast will return on October 25th to this Main Street, U.S.A. restaurant, the characters are only at lunch and dinner.
These meals are also a full buffet once again. Lunch serves salads, vegetables, country-fried chicken, ravioli, and even carved prime rib. This is an excellent option during a Magic Kingdom day as it gives you a way to take a break and have a nice meal without leaving the Park.
We are thrilled that these two dining options are moving even more back to the normal stage we saw before Covid. Meeting some of our favorite characters while enjoying a great meal is part of what makes Disney magical.
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival
You might think that the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival should be wrapping up, but there is still a lot of time left to visit this famous festival. As it runs through the middle of November, Guests have a lot of time to visit the World Showcase and the rest of the EPCOT Park to enjoy some great food and drinks.
Enjoy the Eat to the Beat Concert Series, where a band performs at the American Gardens Theatre most weekends. Try Remy’s Ratatouille Hide and Squeak Scavenger Hunt for little kids. This is an entertaining way for kids to see the World Showcase as they look for Remy in all the different countries.
This festival has so much to enjoy that you won’t want to miss it this month. Enjoy all the food, drinks, and entertainment that make EPCOT special.
Important Dates
If you aren’t aware, October means Christmas is two months away. This means that those traveling to Walt Disney World in December can start making their dining reservations this month.
Guests can also start making reservations for the Candlelight Processional. This fantastic show brings the Christmas story to EPCOT with a celebrity narrator, an outstanding orchestra, and a beautiful choir. Guests who want to make sure they see this moving show can book a dining package to ensure a seat at a specific performance during the day.
Over at Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Guests will once again be able to enjoy After Hours in 2023. This special ticketed event is now available for purchase for specific evenings. Guests staying for these evenings enjoy low wait times and free snacks.
Get ready for the holidays by getting those reservations made this month!
Adjustments
A new month at Walt Disney World also means changes. Although we probably don’t know all the changes we will see this month, we have been told of a few.
First, Magic Kingdom will see an adjustment in Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade. Disney announced that beginning October 9th, this cavalcade will have five showtimes a day.
Because of this adjustment, the Festival of Fantasy Parade will be moving to only once daily at 3 pm. If seeing these two shows during your day at Magic Kingdom is essential to you, make sure you are aware of these adjustments.
A new month always brings excitement and more magic to Walt Disney World; this month isn’t any different. If you plan to head down this month, we hope you have a magical time.
