1. The Goofy/Pluto Paradox
In the magical realm of Disney fans, there has always been the constant debate of the Goofy/Pluto Paradox. Basically, the question is “If Goofy and Pluto are both dogs, why does Pluto walk on four legs and Goofy on two?” This riddle does have an answer and a surprisingly simple one at that. According to the ruling of Disney animators, Goofy is not a dog but a “Funny Animal.” Funny Animals, along the lines of Mickey, Donald and of course Goofy, are animal characters that have been anthropomorphized to become more humanlike, thus making them more relatable to the audience. Pluto, while a very funny animal in his own right, is still just a dog in the same way that Figaro is just a cat. This debate has been around for so long, it has recently been the subject of one of the newer Mickey Mouse cartoons. Though Goofy and Pluto may share certain physical characteristics, they are entirely two different entities.
