Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

One of the first experiences you won’t want to miss this summer is the brand new ride coming to EPCOT.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will be opening Memorial Day weekend and fans are already raving about how outstanding this new ride is.

With the first-ever reverse launch and what is being called an omnicoaster, this ride is definitely a must-do this summer.

Disney announced that Guests wishing to ride Guardians of the Galaxy during their vacation will need to obtain and boarding group.  This isn’t surprising as we have seen this used for both Rise of the Resistance in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT.

As Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is likely to be the top experience this summer, you will want to have a plan if you also what to experience it during your vacation.

EPCOT’s Festivals

When heading to Walt Disney World this summer, make sure to schedule some time to visit the festivals at EPCOT.  This is a fantastic way to experience amazing food and drinks around the World Showcase while enjoying great entertainment as well.

EPCOT doesn’t look any better than it does during the International Flower and Garden Festival that lasts until July 4th.  This festival brings beautiful flowers and topiaries throughout the Park that are works of art.

For those traveling later in the summer, the  International Food and Wine Festival starts July 14th and runs through November 19th.  This festival is known for the unique food and drinks that bring the flavors of the countries to life.

Make sure you check out the entertainment schedule for the festival as well.  Each festival offers great music that shouldn’t be missed.

Festivals are a great time to experience unique food, drinks, and music that truly make EPCOT special.

Typhoon Lagoon Disney World

Water Park

For those heading down this summer, we highly recommend thinking about heading to a Water Park for a day.  Currently, Typhoon Lagoon is the only Disney water Park open.  Dive into the fun by taking a day to enjoy this immersive and exciting Park.

Known for the wave pool, Typhoon Lagoon offers a variety of raft rides, an outstanding lazy river, and a top-notch wave pool.  Looking for some relaxation in the sun?  There are tons of loungers throughout the Park for Guests to relax, read a book, end a drink and have a great time.

Disney’s Water Parks are a hidden gem and a great way to experience the Disney magic outside of the four Theme Parks.

Hugs

Get ready to hug those characters!  We have been waiting a long time to be able to once again hug Mickey and his friends.  This summer, make sure you take some time to stop by and say hello to some of your favorite friends.

Characters are now able to once again sign autographs and give hugs and we couldn’t be happier.  Check out where you can find some of your favorite pals in the four Theme Parks HERE.

Don’t miss out on making those magical moments with Mickey and friends this summer.

Extended Evening Hours

One of the struggles with traveling during the summer months is the heat and humidity.  Those staying at deluxe resorts can tackle this issue by visiting both EPCOT and Magic Kingdom during extended evening hours.

During select days (typically Mondays and Wednesdays) Guests of these select Resorts are able to stay at the Park for up to two hours after Park closing.  This is a fantastic way to experience the Park without large crowds but also without the sun.

This can make a huge difference on experience the fun in the Parks.

Early Entry

All Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort can enjoy early entry which is offered at all four Theme Parks.  This allows Guests to enter the Parks thirty minutes prior to Park opening.

Although we won’t say the humidity won’t be there already, we will say that the crowds will be smaller.  This is a great perk and something we highly recommend taking advantage of this summer.

Shows

There are so many outstanding shows right now throughout Walt Disney World that you will want to make time this summer to experience some of them.

In Magic Kingodm, we are thrilled that the Festival of Fantasy Parade is back.  It is great to see these magical floats travel throughout the Magic Kingdom bringing fun and magic to Guests each day.

We are hopeful that both Fantasmic and the new Finding Nemo show will be returning to the Parks this summer.  Recently, Disney released new concept art for the updated Fantasmic show showing Frozen, Moana, and Aladdin.  This has always been a fantastic nighttime show in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and we can’t wait for it to return.

Take time during the summer to enjoy these shows as they are truly part of the Disney magic.

This summer is set up to be a wonderful experience.  If you are headed down for your Walt Disney World vacation during this time, make sure you don’t miss out on these magical experiences.
