The March Madness of Disney Packing: What Will Take the Trophy

In the spirit of March Madness, it would be fun to quickly break down the top ten times you should have with you at Walt Disney World. Look through the top ten items we think should always be with you at Walt Disney World, and then determine which item you think should take the championship trophy for the most important.

10. Hat

Coming in at number ten is a hat. It is vital to stay protected from the sun while visiting Walt Disney World. Having a hat can keep your eyes and face covered as you enjoy the day in the Park.

This is important for little ones as well. Ensure they have something to wear to cover their face throughout the day. Don’t assume because they are in the stroller that, they will be protected. Take the extra step and bring a hat for them as well.

Sunglasses

9. Sunglasses

Another item that is essential to keep yourself protected from the sun is sunglasses. Being in the sun all day can be tough on your eyes. You might find yourself getting headaches from constantly squinting against the sun.

If you have little ones, consider having something to keep them attached, so the sunglasses don’t get lost. This is helpful when riding rides as you have a way to keep the sunglasses safe.

8. Chapstick

The sun and heat can do a number in drying out your lips. Make sure to prevent cracking by having chapstick. Look into something such as Aquaphor, which can be a lip moisturizer and help with other areas that might rub.

Suppose you can find a chapstick with an SPF that is ideal. Lips dry out quickly in the heat and humidity of Florida.

Hand Sanitizer

7. Hand Santizer and Clorox Wipes

Keep yourself healthy by bringing your hand sanitizer, and Clorox wipes. Disney does a great job at keeping surfaces clean up, but having wipes to clean off a table or surface quickly can be extremely helpful.

Those wipes are also helpful when your little one enjoys their Mickey ice cream sandwiches. Having quick access to hand sanitizer is also essential when in Disney Parks. We like to have one attached to our bag to quickly sanitize our hands before eating.

6. Snacks

We know you can find delicious snacks around Walt Disney World, but we also enjoy having snacks in our Park bag. This makes it easy to grab when little ones or adults get hungry while waiting in line. It is nice to grab something out of our bag quickly.

Having snacks with us can also save some time and money. We don’t always have to stop and purchase a Mickey pretzel or an ice cream sandwich each time we get the munchies. We typically have these items delivered to our Walt Disney World Resort.

It always happens that those hangry issues appear when we are waiting in line or in the middle of a show. Having some fruit snacks or goldfish tossed into the bag can be a huge help. Remember- don’t bring chocolate. You will end up with a huge mess.

5. Water

Staying hydrated is essential at Walt Disney World. You are walking so many miles in the heat and humidity that water is so important. Save money by bringing your refillable water bottles or having water delivered to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel.

We also recommend looking into bringing along hydration packets. These can help boost the electrolytes you lose quickly while in the Parks.

4. Medicine

Make sure that you have essential over-the-counter medicine packed for the Parks. The combination of rides, heat, and being tired can cause a lot of strain on your body. Having some medicine, you can quickly take to help those aches and pains can help you carry on.

We also recommend considering medicine such as Dramamine, Pepto, and Tums. Eating new food and riding all the rides can cause the stomach to become upset. Being able to ease that with some medicine can turn the day around.

If you forget these items, know that most can be found at the Baby Care Centers throughout the four Walt Disney World Parks.

3. Sunscreen

Keep everyone protected from the sun by having sunscreen packed. Even if you apply it before you leave for the day in the Parks, you will want to reapply it multiple times. Toss it into your Park bag so you can continue to stay safe from the sun.

2. Raingear

No matter when you visit Walt Disney World, you will want to have raingear with you. Florida storms always happen; you don’t want to get caught unprepared. Have ponchos or tiny umbrellas tossed into your bag to pull them out when the rain starts quickly?

Even if the weather for the day says sunshine, we highly recommend still having some rain protection packed. This can make or break your day in the Parks, so don’t forget to pack it.

1. Portable Charger

Our number one seed that takes it all is a portable charger. With the importance of My Disney Experience, the official Disney app, Guests need to have their phones charged and ready for the day.

If your phone goes dead, you won’t be able to take pictures, mobile order, use Genie+, see wait times, and so much more. Don’t end up in this situation. Instead, come prepared with portable chargers and cords for everyone.

Those are our top ten items to bring to the Parks with us at Walt Disney World. Would you have ranked them differently? Did we miss something?
