The “Little Things” We Love In Walt Disney World

Most of us know about the top rides, dining locations, and nighttime shows that we should have on our touring plans for our Walt Disney World vacation.  It is easy to make time for Avatar Flight of Passage or Disney Enchantment, but what about those little things that are just as magical.

Take a look at the little things we love in Walt Disney World and then think about adding in some time in during your Walt Disney World vacation to enjoy some of them while visiting.

Magic at the Resort

When planning a trip to Walt Disney World, the focus is typically on the four Theme Parks.  Each day you head out to either Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, or Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  Although we love the Walt Disney World Resort hotels, we often don’t schedule a time during a vacation to enjoy them or if we do it is focused on swimming.

There are some great magical moments that happen each and every day at the Walt Disney World Resorts and even though they are little things, they add a lot of magic.

If you have been at a feature pool in the middle of the afternoon then you have probably seen or heard pool activities going on.  Each afternoon at all the Walt Disney World Resorts (weather depending) amazing Cast Members head out to the feature pools with activities and fun prepared.

These small activities such as Disney trivia or hola hoop contests are small activities that are so much fun for little ones.  We love that Disney takes time to add a little extra magic to the afternoon with these fun games and prizes.

Each Walt Disney World Resort also offers unique activities throughout the day.  From tye-dying t-shirts at Disney’s Pop Century or painting at Disney’s Beach Club, look for the special activities that are offered each day.  We love how they are connected to the Walt Disney World Resort and for a small fee can be a great souvenir.

Another little thing we enjoy at the Walt Disney World Resorts is the movies under the stars.  On select nights, Guests are able to enjoy a movie outside under the Flordia sky.  We realize that most of us have probably seen the chosen movie multiple times; however, there is something special about watching it outside at a Walt Disney World Resort.

Finally, we love the quiet, calm of the Walt Disney World Resorts in the early morning and late evenings.  There is something truly magical about watching a Walt Disney World Resort come to life or setting down for the night.  We know that we walk miles and miles at Walt Disney World, but something little we enjoy at least once during a vacation is walking around the Resort as the sunrises or late at night.

We know that the focus of a Walt Disney World vacation is going to be on the four main Theme Parks; however, the little, magical moments that are offered at the Walt Disney World Resorts are truly special.

Transportation

Transportation in Walt Disney World is another “little thing” that we enjoy during our Disney vacation.  Although sometimes we get frustrated with Disney transportation if we slow down and enjoy the moment the boats, Skyliner, and monorail can really be special.

Boat rides throughout Walt Disney World are extremely relaxing and are excellent ways to see parts of the Walt Disney World Resort Property that you might not normally see.  Taking a slow ride down the Sassogoula River to Disney Springs or enjoying a ride from Magic Kingdom to Disney’s Grand Floridian via the Seven Seas Lagoon is just a little magic that everyone should experience at least once during their vacation.

The Skyliner is another mode of transportation that will bring extra magic to a vacation.  It isn’t just a way to get from one place to another, but it is a ride and an experience all on its own.   Catch a ride from Disney’s Hollywood Studios to Disney’s Riviera or travel all the way from EPCOT to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

As the monorail is a unique method of transportation in Walt Disney World, we love taking a ride around the Seven Seas Lagoon.

Lesser-Known Areas

As we mentioned earlier, most Guests heading to Walt Disney World know what big rides should be on their to-do list; however, we also like the little things that the Disney Parks have to offer.

We love rushing from ride to ride in the mornings and experiencing the low wait times; however, we also enjoy slowing down in the afternoons and taking in the little gems the Parks have to offer.

In Disney’s Animal Kingdom, there are so many hidden trails and animal viewing areas that we love taking time to just walk around the Park and see what we can find.

World Showcase is full of little hidden gems as each and every country offers unique shops, eating areas as well as beautiful areas to relax and enjoy.

Even when Magic Kingdom is the busiest, we love getting a snack and sitting on the hub grass to people watch.  We can also catch the cavalcades as well.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is so well-themed that it is fun to walk around Batuu and visit the unique stores in the area.

We think it is the little things in the Disney Theme Parks that really make them amazing.

We know how amazing the big thrill rides are or how magical the character meals are to go to; however, we also like to enjoy the little things in Walt Disney World that bring magic and memories to our vacation.
