It’s the icon of Disney, the vision of awe, the symbol of magic. It’s Cinderella’s Castle. And here are 9 reasons why we love it:
1. The Inspiration
Not only was designer Herbert Ryman inspired by the Cinderella film, he also took cues from famous castles across Europe. Fontainebleau, a palace in Versailles, France, offered some formal architectural details. Castle Neuschwanstein in Bavaria is a picturesque structure on a mountaintop with inspirational turrets and spires. The Alcázar of Segovia in Spain gives nod to some traditional, functional elements. With whimsical bits of imagination, artistry, and forced perspective, Cinderella’s Castle was created.
