2024 is right around the corner. For many, this means that vacation planning for 2024 will begin after the holidays settle down. If you are thinking about heading down to the Walt Disney World Resort in 2024, there are a few dates that you will want to avoid.

End of the Year

It might seem strange to think about the end of 2024 as we are wrapping up 2023. When planning a trip to Walt Disney World, knowing that the end of the year is a tough time to visit is essential.

Once the holiday season starts, crowds increase as guests want to experience the additional holiday magic that is added to the parks. Although you might be able to find some weeks that aren’t as busy in October, November, and December, be aware that these months see higher crowd levels overall.

Once the holiday decorations go up and events such as Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party begin, crowds tend to increase and remain high throughout the rest of the year.

We have seen an increase in crowd levels surrounding Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s. Be aware that if you want to experience the holiday magic, you might also experience holiday crowds.

Spring Break

When planning a trip to Walt Disney World, spring break season is one that you might want to avoid if possible. Spring break crowds show up at the parks mid-March and continue through April.

The warmer weather and school breaks draw a lot of families to Walt Disney World. As families look to escape the winter months for some sunshine, the crowds at the parks have increased drastically over the last few years.

If you can adjust your spring plans for 2024 to avoid these busier times, we highly recommend doing so.

Summer Months

During the summer months, it isn’t the crowds that we will warn you about but the weather. Once June hits in Florida, the heat and humidity appear in full force.

Because of this, time in the parks during these months can be challenging. If you plan to head down during the year’s hottest months, plan accordingly.

Take breaks during the hottest part of the day. Bring cooling towels and fans, and drink lots of water. Crowds during the summer months are steady, but the weather tends to make this time of year difficult at Walt Disney World.

We share these challenging times of year at Walt Disney World so you can make the best travel plans for you. Be aware that these times of year at Walt Disney World can be difficult for various reasons.

If you don’t think your family can manage the crowds or weather, maybe consider a different time of year to visit.
