How to Ride the Busiest Rides In Walt Disney World

As we head into the summer months, the crowds and waits at the Walt Disney World Park are starting to increase.  This doesn’t mean that you are going to be stuck in long lines throughout your vacation, but it does mean you need to have a plan.

We are going to look at the busiest rides (and often best ride) in Walt Disney World and how you can ride them with lower waits.  Having a plan on how you are going to experience some of these top Disney rides will help you spend less time waiting in line and more time enjoying the magic.

Magic Kingdom

Let’s start with Walt Disney World’s iconic Park first– Magic Kingdom.  One of the great things about Magic Kingdom is that there are so many different rides to choose from throughout the Park.  Magic Kingdom has the most rides of all four Disney Parks which does help spread out the crowds.

Even with all the choices, there are some rides that constantly see long waits each and every day.

Jungle Cruise- Adventureland

Since getting an upgrade and having a movie released about this ride, Jungle Cruise has quickly become one of the most popular rides in Magic Kingdom.  The slow-moving boat ride takes Guests on an adventure through the rivers of the world.

In order to avoid long waits for the Jungle Cruise we suggest using these methods:

  • Booking it as your first Genie+ selection at 7 am
  • Rope dropping
  • Catching it during fireworks

Jungle Cruise is a fun, family-friendly ride but since it is slow loading and a longer ride the wait time quickly reaches an hour early in the day.

Peter Pan’s Flight- Fantasyland

It still amazes us that Peter Pan’s Flight continues to be one of the longest waits in Magic Kingdom on a daily basis.  Guests soar with Peter Pan and Tinker Belle through the beloved story.

Even with a constant load, this ride sees extremely long waits each day.  Luckily, if you have a plan you can enjoy the ride without the wait.  We suggestion:

  • Booking it with Genie+
  • Rope dropping during early entry (Disney Resort Guests)
  • Riding during extended evening hours (deluxe Guests only)
  • Ride during fireworks

Peter Pan’s Flight is an extremely short ride, not one that we would recommend waiting an hour to experience.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train- Fantasyland

Another extremely popular ride in Magic Kingdom is Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.  This family-friendly coaster is a fan favorite and continues to see long lines build as soon as the Park opens to Guests.

Guests ride through the mines with the seven dwarfs in a fun, whimsical coaster that is great for little ones who are starting to get brave.

To avoid a long wait, consider these methods:

  • Purchase an Individual Lightning Lane
  • Rope dropping during early entry (Disney Resort Guests)
  • Riding during extended evening hours (deluxe Guests only)
  • Ride during fireworks

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is a fantastic ride, but waiting hours for it isn’t how we would suggest spending your day in Magic Kingdom.

EPCOT

EPCOT has two of the newest rides in Walt Disney World and they both see long wait times as Guests want to experience them for the first time.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind: World Discovery

The newest ride in all of Walt Disney World is Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.  This new coaster not only has the first reverse launch but also features the new ride vehicles that can rotate 360 degrees.  Guests won’t miss any of the action.

There are only two ways Guests can experience this new ride currently.

  • Purchase an Individual Lightning Lane
  • Obtain a boarding group

We have more information on this ride HERE and what you can expect.

Remy’s Ratotlouise Adventure:  France Pavilion

Back in the France Pavilion, Guests can take a ride with Remy in a new family-friendly trackless ride.  Guests are shrunk to the size of Remy and race through the kitchen to stay out of trouble.

Since many Guests still have not experienced this ride, wait times continue to be long.  There are a few ways to avoid those long waits.

  • Purchase Individual Lightning Lane (if participating)
  • Use Genie+ (if it is part of this option)
  • Rope dropping during early entry (Disney Resort Guests)
  • Riding during extended evening hours (deluxe Guests only)
  • Ride during Harmonious

Remy’s is a great ride for the whole family to do together. This does mean that wait times get long so make sure to have a plan.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, there is only one ride that constantly sees long waits each day.

Avatar Flight of Passage:  Pandora

Years after opening, Flight of Passage continues to see long waits each and every day.  This ride is truly breathtaking and we understand its popularity of it.

Luckily with a good plan, you won’t have to wait too long to experience it.

  • Purchase Individual Lighting Lane
  • Rope dropping during early entry (Disney Resort Guests)
  • Ride in the evening

As one of the most unique rides in Walt Disney World, we can see why it is so popular.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

This Park tends to see the longest waits overall.  With so many amazing attractions, the Park has become extremely busy.  We are going to look at a few of the top rides and how to experience them with lower wait times.  Guests will have to prioritize rides here and have a good plan in order to avoid waits.

Rise of the Resistance:  Star Wars: Galaxy Edge

It isn’t surprising at all that Rise of the Resistance is one of the rides that sees long waits each and every day.  This truly immersive experience is like nothing Guests have ever done before.

Even though it is truly amazing, waiting in long lines is not.  Here are some ways to experience Rise of the Resistance with lower waits:

  • Purchase Individual Lightning Lane
  • Rope dropping during early entry (Disney Resort Guests)
  • Ride during the evening

We highly recommend experiencing this attraction at least once during your vacation.

Slinky Dog Dash:  Toy Story Land

Hang on folks as this is a fun coaster for the whole family.  Slinky Dog Dash continues to be one of the top rides in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  Even though it might look like a kid coaster, it has some thrill to it.

  • Booking it as your first Genie+ selection at 7 am
  • Rope dropping during early entry (Disney Resort Guests)
  • Ride at the end of the night

We love Slinky Dog Dash, but waiting in a long line during the heat of the day isn’t so magical. Have a plan so you can avoid that line.

Rock n’ Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror:  Sunset Boulevard

The two top thrill rides in Disney’s Hollywood Studios are both found down Sunset Boulevard.  These two rides constantly see long waits throughout the day, but there are few ways to experience the thrill without the wait.

  • Use Genie+
  • Rope dropping during early entry (Disney Resort Guests)
  • Visit at night
  • For Rock n’ Roller Coaster, consider the single rider

These are two thrilling rides and Guests continue to enjoy them each day.  Avoid those long waits by having a plan.

Those are some of the busiest rides at Walt Disney World.  They are some of the best attractions in a Disney Park which is why the lines are often long.  Have a plan for your Disney vacation so you don’t have to spend your time in long lines.
