Why Summer 2022 in Disney is Going to Be Magical

We are so excited for summer 2022.  We finally feel like this summer travel, vacations, and Walt Disney World might be back to normal.  Because of this, we think that summer 2022 at Walt Disney World is going to be extra magical.

If you are traveling to Walt Disney World this summer, get ready for a magical experience like you have never had before.  We have all the reasons why this summer is going to be the best.

All the New Things

Many of us haven’t been to Walt Disney World in a few years and that means when we visit this summer we will be able to experience ALL the new attractions, dining, and entertainment.

Let’s start with the new attractions that we are thrilled about.

First and foremost is the highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.  This new one-of-a-kind coaster just opened and we can not wait to experience it.  With a reverse launch and new ride vehicles that rotate 360 degrees, Guests are always in the action.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is another new attraction that we can’t wait to experience in EPCOT.  This family-friendly ride shrinks Guests down to the size of Remy as they rush through the kitchen trying to stay out of trouble.

Disney just announced that Finding Nemo:  The Big Blue and Beyond will be returning to Disney’s Animal Kingdom this June 13th.  We are thrilled to have this show back in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and are excited to see what new adventures Dory, Nemo, and Friends go on together.

Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire is Magic Kingdom is back on the castle stage.  With a new 50th anniversary twist, we are thrilled to watch Mickey and friends once again celebrate, dance, and have a good time.

Disney seems to be constantly opening new dining options throughout the Resort and Parks.  We love that there are always fun options to try.

The newest dining location to open is Connections Cafe & Eatery in EPCOT.  Offering fresh takes on favorites such as burgers, this new location is a great and much-needed quick service location in Walt Disney World’s EPCOT.

Nighttime Shows

It has been a while since we have been able to enjoy a nighttime show at Walt Disney World.  We are thrilled that this summer many of us will once again be able to wrap up our magical days with magical nighttime shows.

Back in October, Disney introduced two new nighttime shows.  Disney’s Enchantment opened in Magic Kingdom and Harmonious opened in EPCOT.  This summer is going to be a wonderful time to experience these shows.

We are also hoping that we hear more about Fantasmic coming back to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  Disney has stated it will be back in 2022; however, we are still waiting for when.

These new experiences are part of why we think summer 2022 is going to be extra magical.

Characters and Hugs

We think summer is going to be amazing and full of magic because we can once again hug characters!

It is so exciting to know that big and little kids can once again hug their favorite characters throughout the Walt Disney World Parks.  There is something extra special about getting that hug from Mickey Mouse during a Disney vacation.

We are thrilled to be able to see all of them once again, chat, take pictures, and get hugs.  Starting June 19th, Mickey and Minnie will be back in Disney’s Animal Kingdom at the Adventures Outpost giving Guests even more opportunities to visit the main mouse.

Being able to experience this once again this summer is going to make it a magical one for sure.

Minnie Vans Return

Adding to the magic of Disney’s transportation is the Minnie Vans.  These adorable Minnie-themed vans are a fantastic way to get around the Walt Disney World Resort Property and they will be back this summer.

These vans are driven by Disney Cast Members and provide a magical travel experience around Walt Disney World.  In the past, they were booked through the LYFT app and we look forward to seeing how it will work in the future.

There is something magical about these Minnie Vans.  You feel like a special VIP.

Back to Normal

We believe that this summer is going to be magical because most experiences in Walt Disney World have returned to normal.  Guests can once again experience the magic in the way they remember it prior to the shutdown.

Walt Disney World has done a fantastic job keeping Guests and Cast Members safe during these tough and difficult times.  They have made adjustments as they needed and were willing to tighten and loosen restrictions as they felt were needed.

Heading into this summer, we feel that the magic has returned to normal making it a great time to visit.  Mask requirements, social distancing, and a lot of the other restrictions have been lifted.  Guests can now enjoy the Parks the way they remember them.

Because of this, we feel like summer 2022 is going to be super magical.

New rides, shows, and dining are waiting for us to experience them in Walt Disney World.  Characters are waiting for hugs.  Cast Members are ready to share the magic.  Summer 2022 is Walt Disney World is going to be a truly magical experience.

If you are heading down this summer for a Walt Disney World vacation, we know that you are going to have a magical time with your loved ones.
