7 Free Things To Take Advantage of in Magic Kingdom

Taking a Disney vacation in Lake Buena Vista is undoubtedly a costly undertaking. Therefore, it’s excellent news that The Walt Disney Company offers free things to Guests when visiting Walt Disney World. While some free stuff are available in a Disney Resort hotel, there are also free things in the Disney Parks. Suppose you will soon be a Guest of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, or Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. In that case, you’re only a short water taxi or Disney Monorail ride away from free things in Magic Kingdom. For Guests of other Disney hotels, including Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, you’re just a short bus ride away.

Next time you plan on visiting Magic Kingdom Park, make time to enjoy the following free items available in the Disney Park. You won’t need a Disney Genie Lightning Lane reservation to enjoy them!

Pixie Dust

Everyone needs a little faith, trust, and pixie dust. In Magic Kingdom Park, any Guest can enjoy a sprinkle of pixie dust to make a wish. While in the Disney Park, visit Sir Mickey’s in Fantasyland. Cast Members of the Disney store can sprinkle you with pixie dust. Look out for a Cast Member holding a magic wand. If you don’t see anyone doing so, ask a Cast Member, who will gladly help you. Prepare to make a wish as you are sprinkled with pixie dust.

Pixie dust is also available in the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Fantasyland. However, only younger Guests booked in for a makeover can take advantage of the Disney experience. Similarly, Guests visiting the Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street, U.S.A., in Magic Kingdom can be sprinkled with pixie dust at the end of their haircut.

Iced Water

Iced water is complimentary to all Guests of the Walt Disney World Resort. You just need to know to ask for it. You can get cups of iced water in any quick-service restaurant in Magic Kingdom Park. If you are placing an order, simply order your food and proceed to the collection point. At the collection point, ask for the cups of iced water you and your family need. However, if you aren’t placing a quick-service order, just proceed to the collection counter, and ask a Cast Member who is free for cups of iced water. Staying hydrated in the Disney theme park is easy without purchasing bottled water.

If you are a Walt Disney World Resort hotel Guest with a refillable mug, you can fill your mug with iced water. Doing so avoids you having to carry round disposable cups. While you can’t refill your refillable mug for free in the Disney Parks, it’s still useful throughout the day.

Celebration Buttons

Like iced water, Disney celebration buttons are available in each Disney theme park. However, there’s something special about picking up your celebration button from the City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A., in Magic Kingdom Park. Generally, you should find a cart outside with baskets of celebration buttons available to Guests. Should you wish to have your buttons personalized, visit Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square. Celebrations buttons can be personalized from $3. The service is an excellent way to commemorate a special event you have celebrated during your Disney vacation.

A Pirate’s Adventures: Treasures of the Seven Seas

While you can get carried away riding attractions, seeing shows and parades, and meeting Disney characters in Magic Kingdom Park, there’s other fun to be had in Adventureland. A Pirate’s Adventures: Treasures of the Seven Seas is a free activity for all Guests. The scavenger hunt guides you around Adventureland via a talisman that lets you read a secret treasure map. Upon completion of the scavenger hunt, you will be rewarded. Complete all five missions to receive a bonus from Captain Jack Sparrow. The Crow’s Nest in Adventureland, just across from the Splash Mountain site, is where the fun begins!

Stickers

There are many free stickers to collect from around the Walt Disney World Resort. However, two stickers are unique to Magic Kingdom Park. They’re free to Guests; you just need to know how to get them! Both stickers are available in Tomorrowland.

The first is the Galactic Hero sticker. To collect it, you’ll need to achieve the highest score on Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. When you earn a score of 999,999 on the Disney attraction, take a photo of your score before leaving the ride vehicle. To exit, you pass through Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Photos store. Please stop by the register, and speak to a Cast Member, showing them your photo. They will award you the Galactic Hero sticker. Be sure to wear it with pride once you’ve received it, or keep it and display it with pride when you are home.

The second sticker available in Magic Kingdom Park is a Sonny Eclipse sticker. You must pass Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe at the right time to receive one from a Cast Member. It may also be worth speaking to Cast Members if you plan to dine at the Disney quick-service restaurant.

Disney Licenses

Did you know you can pick up your Disney license in Magic Kingdom? Two Disney rides have a Disney license. They are free items that are fun to collect by any Guest, but especially younger Guests aren’t able to have their own license yet. Visit Tomorrowland Speedway, across from Space Mountain, or Dumbo the Flying Elephant, and speak to a Cast Member to take advantage of the free Disney items.

Main Street Confectionery Samples

Even if you plan on buying something other than sweet treats, the Main Street Confectionery is always worth a visit when you are spending time in Magic Kingdom. The Walt Disney World store sells Disney treats in all shapes and sizes. It’s also the place to sample the sweet delights that are available to buy. Samples vary throughout the day, so you will likely have the chance to taste something different every time you visit. While you may only intend to stop to take advantage of the free samples that are available, don’t be surprised if what you taste is so good to have to buy more!
