Disney Resorts To Skip in 2023

As you begin planning your 2023 Walt Disney World vacations, there are a few Disney Resorts that you might want to reconsider booking. Choosing a Disney Resort is a big decision, and we want to ensure that you have all the information you need to make the right choice for your family.

Look at some of the worst hotels you can book during 2023 at Walt Disney World.

Skyliner Resorts

This might seem surprising to some, but be aware that Skyliner Resorts might not always be the best option. Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Art of Animation, Pop Century, and Disney’s Riviera Resort are all on the Skyliner, giving Guests easy access to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.

Traveling to Walt Disney World in early 2023, you might want to reconsider a Skyliner REsort. Disney has announced that the Skyliner will be under refurbishment from January 22nd to January 29th, 2023.

Although this is a short closure during 2023, it is something that you should consider when booking your Walt Disney World Resort.

Resorts with Construction

We are glad that Walt Disney World is constantly updating and improving its Resorts. This does mean that sometimes specific Resorts might not be a great place to stay due to that construction.

At Walt Disney World, a few Disney Resorts are going through construction that might not be the best place to stay in 2023. Over at the Boardwalk Inn, upgrades are happening now. This Resort is getting a new lobby, table service restaurant, lounge, coffee bar, and updated Guest rooms.

New Disney Vacation Club Villas are coming to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. This building will have new dining options, retail, and much more.

Although we love Disney’s updates to these Resorts, it does mean the construction noises, equipment, and workers will be around the Resort area. Keep this in mind when booking your vacation.

Resorts With Extreme Transportation

It is excellent that Walt Disney World offers free transportation throughout the Walt Disney World property. Remember that each Disney Resort has unique transportation offerings when booking your Disney vacation. Buses, Skyliner, monorails, boats, and walking paths are available throughout the Disney Property.

When planning where you want to stay, consider where you will spend your time during your vacation. If you are going to be at Magic Kingdom most days, consider a Disney Resort on the monorail line.

For those wanting to spend time at EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios, staying at a Skyliner Resort or in the Beach and Yacht Club area makes sense for easy access to the Parks.

For those with strollers, consider staying at a monorail or Skyliner Resort, where you can easily roll your stroller on without folding it up.

Thinking about the transportation offered from your Disney Resort is critical and should be something to consider in 2023 as you make your travel plans.

Closed Pools

Most of us want to be able to visit the pool while on our Walt Disney World vacation. Disney has impressive pools at all of its Resorts, and you don’t want to show up and have it closed.

Currently, two Resorts will see pool closures in 2023. Disney’s Contemporary Resort will have both the Feature pool, and the Whirlpool spa closed from January 9th to early April 2023.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will have the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool and Whirlpool Spa closed during that period.

Finally, Saratoga Springs, High Rock Spring Pool will be closed from early January to late March.

If you are traveling during early 2023 and swimming is important to you, you won’t want to book at one of these Disney Resorts.

Resorts that Don’t Fit You

There are pros and cons to all the Walt Disney World Resorts. The worst Disney Resort to book in 2023 is one that doesn’t fit your needs. Just because someone else said it was a fantastic Resort doesn’t mean it will be for your family.

Think about how you are going to use your Disney Resort. If you plan a few rest days, you might want to spend more money to have a bigger room and more amenities. When traveling with little kids, enjoying a well-themed Disney Resort can be super fun, but it might not be necessary for an adult-only trip.

Some moderate Disney Resorts, such as Disney’s Coronado Springs and Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside, have internal bus stops. This means that you might have to wait for a bus or wait to be dropped off at night after returning from the Parks. You might also need to walk to the pools and dining areas.

The worst Disney Resort for someone you know might be the best Disney Resort for your family. Take time to look at what each Resort has to offer to determine if it is suitable for your and your needs.

Be aware of construction and refurbishments that might impact your stay, and then determine where you want to be throughout the trip. Knowing these elements can help narrow down where you want to stay during your Disney vacation.

There are a lot of great Disney Resorts throughout Walt Disney World. Take some time to learn more about what they offer so you can make the best choice possible when it comes to your vacation.
