Major Things Coming to Walt Disney World in 2023

Walt Disney World is always adding new and exciting experiences for Guests to enjoy.  From new shows, dining, and rides there is always something new to experience at Walt Disney World.  2023 will be bringing in a lot of fun and highly anticipated attractions.  We have the major things coming to Walt Disney World in 2023 so you won’t miss a thing.

Tron Lightcycle Run- Magic Kingdom

Guests have been watching the construction of Tron for a few years now.  Over in Tomorrowland, Tron is an E-ticket attraction that we can’t wait to have open to Guests.  Coming to us from Shanghai Disneyland, Tron Lightcycle Run will have Guests racing on motorbikes at speeds up to 60 mph.

Following the 2023 D23 Expo, it seems like Guests will be waiting until 2023 for their chance to ride Tron.  Although it seems like a long way away, we know that the wait will be worth it.

Happily Ever After

Happily Ever After Returns to Magic Kingdom

Currently, the nighttime show at Magic Kingdom is Disney Enchantment.  This show joined Magic Kingdom for the 50th-anniversary celebration that started on October 1st.  The show did get a recent update as the introduction now features both Walt and Roy Disney.  A much-needed and highly demanded addition.

Although Disney Enchantment is magical, many Guests were still demanding the return of Happily Ever After.  These fans won’t have to wait too much longer as 2023 will see a new “updated” version of Happily Ever After.

We aren’t clear if it will just be the beloved Happily Ever After song featuring the talented Jordan Fisher or if the whole show will be back.  Either way, we can’t wait to find out.

Journey of Water- Inspired by Moana:  EPCOT

EPCOT has been going through a large transformation as it transitions from Future World to the new neighborhoods.  As part of this process, EPCOT is getting a new attraction featuring Moana.  This attraction will be interactive as Guests walk through and learn about the importance of water.

We have seen updates of the attraction including the 16-foot Te Fiti sculpture, but it will be a while before Guests are able to experience the attraction.  The opening timeline is set for “late 2023”.

Figment Meet and Greet- EPCOT

EPCOT is also going to see the return of the beloved purple dragon.  Figment will be back to meet Guests in 2023.  It has been years since this beloved dragon has been around for Guests to say hello to.

No official timeline was given, but we anticipate when Figment does return to EPCOT it will bring long lines.  Guests love this adorable purple dragon- and we don’t blame them.

Roundup Rodeo BBQ- Toy Story Land, Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The new table service location will be coming to Andy’s backyard soon.  Disney announced that Roundup Rodeo BBQ will be coming in 2022, so we know that it should be ready to enjoy by 2023.

This table-service dining location is to be themed to feature some of andy’s favorite games and play vets to make a fun, exciting atmosphere.  We are still holding out hope that we could meet our favorite Toy Story friends here, but that still doesn’t seem likely.

This is going to be a fantastic addition to not just Toy Story Land but to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  We are hopeful that the food will be fantastic and the experience amazing.

World Celebration- EPCOT

Another exciting update to EPCOT will be the addition of the stunning gardens as well as Dreamers Point.  Here is where the new statue featuring Walt Disney himself will be found.

We were given a sneak peek of this statue during D23 and we can’t wait to see Walt join EPCOT.  This will be a beautiful and moving addition to EPCOT.

Harmonious

Harmonious Leaves- EPCOT

Harmonious has only been around since the end of 2021 as part of the 50th-anniversary celebration.  This show came with much anticipation and Guests wanted to know how the show would include the major barges that now make the World Showcase Lagoon home.

We were surprised to learn that this show will be replaced as part of the Walt Disney Company’s 100th Anniversary.  Very limited information was provided about what will be coming to EPCOT in the future when it comes to a nighttime show.  It will be interesting to see what the future will bring.

Hatbox Ghost- Magic Kingdom

Fans are freaking out with the announcement that the Hatbox Ghost will be coming to the Haunted Mansion soon.  This is an extremely popular animatronic that is a huge hit in Disneyland, but will be joining the East coast as well.

Get ready for long lines when he makes his appearance in 2023.

Disney Springs

New Food Options

It was announced that both The Cake Bake Show by Gwendolyn Rogers will be coming to Disney’s Boardwalk in 2023.  This is a new table service location and bakery that we think will be a fantastic addition to the area.

In Disney Springs a new dining location will be coming called Summer House on the Lake.  This will be a tropical location that will bring a California-inspired menu that will bring in local products as well.

It is always so exciting to see what new experiences will be coming to Walt Disney World. 2023 will be filled with a lot of new magic, fun, and excitement that we can’t wait to experience during our next Walt Disney World vacation.  What are you the most excited for?
