Why You Should Stay at a Disney Skyliner Resort

There are a lot of different Walt Disney World Resorts for Guests to choose from when planning a trip to the magic.  Each Resort offers different pros and cons which we have looked into on How to Disney.

A huge advantage to some of the Walt Disney World Resorts is their access to the Disney Skyliner.  Being able to use this free Disney transportation is a great feature to have access to during a Disney vacation.

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is the hub for the Disney Skyliner.  It is the Resort where Guests transfer to head to either Disney’s Hollywood Studios or EPCOT.

Next door to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is Disney’s Riviera.  Finally, Disney’s Pop Century and Disney’s Art of Animation are also on the Skyliner loop.

Staying at these Resorts and having access to the Skyliner is something we think Guests should consider when booking at Walt Disney World Resort for their vacation.  Let’s look at why we think Guests should stay at a Disney Skyliner Resort.

Transportation

The first and most obvious reason is the ease of transportation that the Skyliner offers Guests.  Guests staying at a Skyliner Resort have quick and easy access to not just one Disney Park but two.  The Skyliner provides transportation to both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Unlike buses and boats that you might end up waiting twenty or more minutes for, the Disney Skyliner is constantly moving.  Because of this, even what might seem like long lines move quickly.  Guests typically have a very limited wait when using the Skyliner even in at Park opening and Park closing.

We also like that the actual transportation time is very limited.  Each leg of the Skyliner takes under ten minutes.  This means that those staying at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort or Disney’s Riviera Resort can easily be at either EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios in ten minutes.  This is a major advantage.

For those Guests, that plan on spending a lot of time at either EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios, staying at one of the Disney Skyliner Resorts can be a huge advantage when it comes to transportation time.

Amazing Views

This might not seem like a big deal, but there is something truly magical about seeing the Walt Disney World Resort from the Skyliner.  These views are ones that Guests will only get while riding the Disney Skyliner.

As we soar over Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, we love seeing the beautiful colors that bring this Resort to life. The combination of the water and the pastels are breathtaking.

Heading into EPCOT’s International Gateway, we love being able to see Spaceship Earth in the distance as well as all of the countries around the World Showcase.

If you time your travel right, you are also able to experience Harmonious, the nighttime show at EPCOT, from high above.  This is a unique and beautiful experience if you are able to time it right.

On a vacation that is typically super busy and on the go, taking time to enjoy the beautiful views from the Skyliner is truly special.

Lots of Dining

If you are a fan of delicious food, staying at one of the Disney Skyliner Resorts gives you access to a lot of food options.  You are a quick ride away from a variety of different Resorts that all offer a unique dining experience.

For a quick meal, Guests can enjoy the two food courts at both Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.  These two value resorts have large food courts that offer a variety of options that the whole family will love.  You can enjoy a quick bite to eat and then walk around the amazing Resort enjoying the larger-than-life icons.

For a nicer meal, Guests can head over the Disney’s Riviera Resort or Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.  Both of these Resorts have table service meals that are top options.  Disney’s Riviera Resort has Topolino’s Terrace which offers an amazing and extremely popular character dining breakfast experience.

In the evening, Topolino’s Terrace transforms into a signature dining experience.  Guests enjoy a high-end meal with amazing views of Walt Disney World.

Sebastian’s Bistro over at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort also offers a table service meal with a variety of delicious flavors.

Guests can also enjoy a variety of different bars and lounges at the different Skyliner Resorts.  This is a fun way to see the different Resorts while enjoying some drinks and small bites.

Near International Gateway

For Guests that are going to focus on EPCOT and the World Showcase, staying at a Disney Skyliner Resort is a great option.  The Skyliner drops Guests right at EPCOT’s International Gateway giving quick and easy access to World Showcase.

Guests can easily enjoy the festivals going on at EPCOT throughout the year with this easy entrance that avoids the front of the Park.

Disney's Boardwalk Resort

Another fun area that Skyliner Resorts has access to is the Boardwalk.  This area has so many dining options as well as a fun and entertaining nightlife.  Being on the Skyliner makes it easy to pop over and enjoy without worrying about transportation.

Guests can enjoy some dueling pianos at Jelly Rolls or a signature meal at Flying Fish.  Grab some ice cream and walk around the area to see the beauty of these Resorts.

It is a lot of fun to stay at one of Disney’s Skyliner Resorts.  It doesn’t matter which Resort you choose, they all provide quick transportation with a variety of dining and entertainment easy to access.  We highly recommend looking into staying at one of Disney’s Skyliner Resorts during your next Walt Disney World vacation.
