Crucial Step Before Entering Disney World, Warns Insider
It’s safe to say most Disney Park fans know that a trip to Disneyland or the Walt Disney World Resort doesn’t happen overnight. For the best results, potential Park Hoppers will sometimes chart out their trips months in advance. That’s not always the case for Disney World newbies.
One of the biggest mistakes anyone can make when taking a Disney vacation is winging it. As magical and wonderful as a Disney vacation can often be, poor planning can turn a dream experience into a complete nightmare. However, one Disney Park expert shares how to avoid the common pitfalls of making a Disney trip happen.

Inside the Magic reached out to Susan Vaness for further comment, and she was kind enough to share her biggest tips on what to know before going to Disney. The author had this to say about pre-planning a Disney vacation.
“Planning a Walt Disney World vacation is so exciting, but it can also be overwhelming. Walt Disney World Hacks is intended to take a lot of the stress out of planning by focusing on simple things guests can do to save time and money, and it also highlights ways families or adults-only can get ready for such an intense trip. Knowing what order is most efficient for making your bookings, how to use Genie+ to its best advantage, where to find discounts on hotel rooms and flights, and even ways to announce a surprise Walt Disney World vacation to the kids allows guests to relax more once they arrive, and get the most out of the parks and attractions.”
“Two hacks that really help visitors prepare for their trip take a little pre-planning. The majority of guests will arrive at the parks around 10 a.m., so the first hour or two after the park opening is the best time to hit the major attractions with shorter waits. With that in mind, guests who aren’t used to getting up early should consider setting an alarm for early-rising for at least two weeks before their trip, allowing enough time for it to become a habit. Starting a walking program a couple of weeks in advance helps a lot too, because you’re going to do a lot of walking in the parks. But most planning hacks are things readers can do quickly and easily, and still have a big pay-off. “
In her book, Vaness shares some of the best strategies for storming the Magic Kingdom, and the tips above are only a tiny sampling of how her guides can take the tension away from making a successful Disney vacation.
When it comes to preparing for a Disney trip, every life hack, tip, and money-saving technique goes a long way. It takes more than wishful thinking and a plane ticket to make the magic happen, and Susan Vaness knows that better than most.
