How to Celebrate 626 Day Like a True Stitch Superfan

June 26th is no ordinary day—it’s 626 Day, the ultimate celebration of everyone’s favorite blue alien: Stitch! Known formally as Experiment 626, Stitch crashed into our hearts in 2002 and never left.

Whether at home, in the parks, or somewhere in the galaxy, here are some fun and creative ways to celebrate Stitch this June 26th!

7. Celebrate 625 First—with a Sandwich!

Before 626 gets the spotlight, show some love to his cousin, Experiment 625—a.k.a. Reuben! He has all of Stitch’s powers but prefers to channel them into making the perfect sandwich.

Honor Reuben’s legacy with a sandwich-making session! Some tasty ideas:

  • Classic Reuben: Rye bread, corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Thousand Island dressing.
  • PB&J: Perfect for Pudge the Fish! (Just make sure it’s a tuna-free zone.)
  • Club Sandwich: A stack worthy of an experiment’s appetite.
  • Monte Cristo: Sweet, savory, and a bit chaotic; just like Stitch.

Choose your favorite or try them all. It’s what Reuben would want.

6. Rock Your Stitch Gear

It’s time to pull out all your Stitch merch and proudly show off your fandom! Whether it’s a t-shirt, hat, Loungefly backpack, Spirit Jersey, or even a pair of cozy socks, today’s the day to go all out. Don’t be afraid to layer on the accessories—think themed jewelry, hair clips, pins, and MagicBands.

Got a Stitch onesie? Wear it. A homemade “Ohana means family” shirt? Rock it. The louder, brighter, and more mischievous your outfit, the better! 626 Day is all about celebrating this lovable troublemaker in full style, so let your look reflect his playful, over-the-top personality.

Bonus points if you coordinate outfits with your ohana for a group photo moment!

5. Fuel Up with Stitch’s Favorite: Coffee!

Stitch loves coffee (maybe a little too much), so why not start your 626 Day the same way he would, buzzing with energy and ready for adventure! Kick off your morning with your favorite brew, and if you have a Stitch-themed mug, now’s the time to use it.

For a fun twist, try Joffrey’s Stitch’s Coconut Craze blend, which combines smooth tropical notes that’ll transport you straight to the beaches of Kaua‘i.

Pair your coffee with a pineapple treat to make your breakfast special, like pineapple cake, donuts, or even fresh fruit. You could even turn it into a mini Lilo & Stitch-themed brunch with blue tableware, a tropical playlist, and some animated chaos on in the background.

Because let’s be honest, nothing says “Happy 626 Day” like coffee, sugar, and a little mischief!

4. Movie Marathon Time!

No 626 Day is complete without a Lilo & Stitch movie marathon! Start with the original 2002 classic on Disney+, and keep the good vibes going with its sequels like Stitch! The Movie, Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch, and Leroy & Stitch. Each one dives deeper into Stitch’s story and the many other experiments out there in the galaxy.

And if the live-action version is still playing in theaters, consider making it a full event, grab some friends or family, throw on your Stitch gear, and make it a movie night to remember. Whether you’re watching at home or on the big screen, bonus points if you share the experience with someone you consider part of your ohana. After all, movies are better when shared, especially ones about love, family, and alien chaos.

3. Grab Something Special from the 626 Day Collection

Every year, Disney releases exclusive 626 Day merchandise to celebrate our favorite blue alien, and it’s always full of must-have items for fans. From limited-edition pins and adorable plushies to themed apparel, accessories, and even home décor, it’s the perfect excuse to start, or grow, your Stitch collection.

If you’re visiting a Disney park, be sure to check out shops like World of Disney, Emporium, or Merchant of Venus for special drops and park-only exclusives. You might even find items featuring other experiments or fun crossover designs. Whether you’re a casual fan or a hardcore collector, grabbing a little something on 626 Day is a fun way to commemorate the chaos and cuteness of Stitch.

2. Meet Stitch at the Disney Parks

If you’re lucky enough to be in Walt Disney World or Disneyland, you might be able to catch Stitch in person!

  • Meet him at ‘Ohana (especially during character breakfast).
  • Dance the night away at Galactic Blast at Tomorrowland! Groove to out-of-this-world tunes during a space-inspired DJ dance party at Rocket Tower Plaza Stage, with surprise appearances by none other than our mischievous friend Stitch!
  • Look out for special photo ops or surprise appearances on 626 Day itself!

1. Tell Your Ohana You Love Them

One of the most heartwarming things about Lilo & Stitch is its powerful message about family. Stitch may have been created for destruction, but he quickly learns that love and connection are what truly matter:

“Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.”

626 Day is the perfect time to reflect on that message and share it with the people who matter most to you. Take a moment to reach out, whether it’s a phone call, a text, a hug, or a simple “I love you.” Better yet, invite your ohana over for a sandwich-making session, some coffee, and a Lilo & Stitch movie marathon.

It’s not about doing something big, it’s about reminding the people you love that they’ll never be left behind or forgotten.

Stitch Out Loud

626 Day is more than just a fandom holiday; it celebrates misfits, chaos, and unconditional love. Whether you’re sipping coffee, hugging your ohana, or dancing with Stitch under Tomorrowland lights, remember: there’s a little bit of 626 in all of us.

So wear the blue, eat the sandwich, and say it loud: Happy 626 Day!
