7 Items That Guests Always Forget to Pack for Disney

When making your packing list, you bring one of everything. Most of us remember the items we need, such as rain gear, clothes, and sunscreen. With so much to remember, there are items that you will probably forget.

We want to share some of the most common items that Guests need to remember when heading to Walt Disney World. By sharing these items, we hope they will be added to your suitcase before you arrive at Walt Disney World.

Shoes with good support

1. Extra Shoes

Most of us know to pack comfortable shoes for Walt Disney World. We know that we will be walking a lot, so having good shoes will help us as we manage to miles each day of our trip.

Some need to remember to pack an extra pair of good shoes, especially for kids. Even the best shoes can cause blisters and irritate when you are walking so much. You can switch out each day by having an extra pair of shoes to help keep your feet happy.

We also like to have extra shoes when visiting during those rainy months. Having an extra pair of shoes means we don’t have to worry about frantically drying our shoes before the following day. Being able to switch to dry shoes can be a game-changer.

You don’t want to get stuck having shoes that cause your feet to be sore. Pack an extra pair for everyone so you can enjoy a magical time.

Sunglasses

2. Sunglasses

A commonly forgotten item traveling to Walt Disney World is sunglasses. These should be remembered as you rush to the airport. Make sure you have sunglasses by packing a pair in your carry-on or your suitcase. Doing this will ensure that they make it on vacation with you.

It can be tough to be in a Disney Park without sunglasses, so ensure everyone has a pair packed for the trip. Even though you can find some adorable Disney-themed ones in the Parks, you may want to save that money for something else.

3. An Extra Bag

When packing for Walt Disney World, you aren’t thinking about heading home, but you should. On vacation, you will probably purchase a few new items, such as a popcorn bucket, bubble wand, new Minnie Ears, or some clothes. These items can take up a lot of room in your suitcase.

Be prepared for these items by throwing in another small duffle bag. These don’t take up a lot of room but can be a lifesaver when getting ready to repack for home. Get those magical souvenirs home with ease by packing an extra bag. Save frustration and money when heading to the airport.

4. Night Light

Another item that needs to be bigger and more remembered is a night light. Walt Disney World Resort hotel rooms can be highly dark and scare little ones as they adjust to a new sleeping situation.

Pack that night light so you can help little ones adjust, and adults will be able to find the bathroom a little easier in the middle of the night. They don’t take up much room in the suitcase, but they can make a big difference in the Disney Resort room.

5. Medicine

Most of us remember those essential prescription medicines; however, it can be easy to forget to toss in over-the-counter medication that you might need throughout the trip.

You can find medicine throughout Walt Disney World at Disney Resorts and First Aid Stations in the Parks. It is easier, less frustrating, and cheaper if you remember your own.

Make sure you have medicine for headaches and tummy aches.  Changing a routine when it comes to eating and sleeping can have some impacts on the body. Making sure you have medication to help when those issues arise can be extremely helpful.

These are the top two medicines most Guests will appreciate having during their Disney vacation but think about other seasonal medications that might be helpful in a new environment.

It never hurts to have OTC medicine for those unexpected issues in Walt Disney World. You don’t want a headache or tummy ache to interrupt your trip.

6. Snacks

There are many snacks throughout Walt Disney World; therefore, many Guests don’t think snacks are needed when it comes to packing. The issue comes when those late-night munchies hit or the hunger pains attack while waiting in line.

Consider packing some easy items like granola bars, goldfish, or other individual package items for your trip. These items can help when the food courts have closed or when you are in line, and someone is hungry.

We always recommend having some snacks on hand.

7. Aloe

Most Guests remember to pack sunscreen when heading to Walt Disney World for a family vacation; however, don’t forget to throw in some aloe vera. Nothing is worse than having a sunburn and not having anything to put on it to soothe the sting. This is where we recommend making sure you toss in some aloe.

Applying some aloe on a sunburn can help lessen the irritation and help it heal faster. If you forget and find yourself a little red, you can find aloe vera in the first aid locations throughout the four Disney Parks and at the gift shops at the Walt Disney World Resort hotels.

Determining what to pack for your Walt Disney World vacation can be difficult. By sharing these items that most Guests forget but wish hadn’t, we hope you will remember to pack them for your upcoming Walt Disney World trip.
