Food is an important part of a Walt Disney World vacation. Determining where you want to eat is a big step. Disney offers two main dining options for Guests. First are table-service locations. These are sit-down meals throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. Guests that want to be waited on, have a longer meal, and have a more up-scale experience will enjoy these. Table service locations require dining reservations. Those can be made 60 days prior to your arrival day.
The other option is quick service locations. These are dining locations that Guests can place mobile orders at through the My Disney Experience app. They then pick up their food when it is made and find a place to eat on their own. It is more of a cafeteria-style experience.
We enjoy both options during our Walt Disney World vacations. They both have amazing food, great themes, and wonderful Cast Members. Today though we are going to look at quick service options that would be good for kids.
This might mean that the food is more basic, but they will also make it easier to find something that the kids will enjoy. We are going to provide some options at each of the four main Disney Parks so you know where you should eat.
Magic Kingdom
As most of us with kids end up at the Magic Kingdom at some point during our Disney vacation (as we should), we thought we’d start there.
Casey’s Corner- Main Street, U.S.A.: Our first suggestion for a quick service location that kids will enjoy at the Magic Kingdom is Casey’s Corner. Although this dining location isn’t very large, and the menu is limited, most kids are happy with the offerings.
Here at Casey’s Corner, Guests will enjoy hot dogs or corn dog nuggets. Not a lot of variety when it comes to food choices, but the corn dog nuggets are a definite top choice. Grab some of these and then sit outside to enjoy the views of the castle or even catch a cavalcade as it comes by.
Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe: Tomorrowland: Our other pick for in the Magic Kingdom is Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. Again, the menu here is basic, but also one that kids will love. The menu is typical Theme Park options such as burgers, chicken nuggets, and chicken sandwiches but sometimes that is all our kids want to eat.
The best part of Cosmic Ray’s though is the amazing performance Guests can enjoy from Sonny Eclipse. The kids will enjoy seeing him play while parents can enjoy some downtime.
Cosmic Rays is also a larger dining area making it easier to find places to sit and it does have great views of Tomorrowland and the castle.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
This Disney Park isn’t one that gets a lot of rave reviews when it comes to quick-service dining locations. Although some new ones such as Woody’s Lunch Box, Docking Bay 7, and Ronto Rosters have helped, it can still be difficult to find something everyone will enjoy.
Backlot Express- Echo Lake: One option we like for kids is Backlot Express. This menu has a variety of unique items as well as classic Theme Park food. We like that adults can enjoy some unique items such as a Cuban sandwich and the kids can choose to have an Uncrustable if they so choose.
The dining location is also very large making it easy to mobile order from and find a spot. If you are looking for a good dessert, check to see if the Wookie Cookie is available. You won’t be sorry.
EPCOT
EPCOT has so many dining options that sometimes this Disney Park can be hard to find something for everyone because of all the options to choose from for dining.
Sunshine Seasons- Land Pavilion: If you are traveling with kids that might be slightly picky, we recommend Sunshine Seasons for a quick service option. Similar to a cafeteria, Sunshine Seasons has a few walk-up windows that you can order from. Because of the different areas, you are able to have a variety of food choices.
Kids can have pizza, chicken nuggets, or even chicken drumsticks. Parents might enjoy the Asian cuisine or tacos that are offered.
Again this location has lots of seating and is indoors two important aspects for dining.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is the Disney Park that many raves about when it comes to food. Although we agree that there are some great options, you might run into the problem of finding something your kid will enjoy.
Flame Tree Barbecue- Discovery Island: One option for kids in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is Flame Tree Barbecue. Here kids can find some fun items like a chicken drumstick or pulled pork platter, but also a classic option like a hot dog or Uncrustable. There are also sides such as graham crackers and Cuties as well.
It can be hard to find places where the whole family can find something they will all want to eat. These are some of our top choices in the four Disney Parks when it comes to quick service meals with kids. They offer a variety of choices, easy seating, and mostly out of the elements. These are all important when determining where to enjoy a meal at Walt Disney World.
