“I’m Done This Year” – Families Forced Out of Disney Due to Increased Prices

The constant price increases for Magic Keys mean that some families are officially being forced out of Disney.

The reality that Disney is simply becoming too expensive for the average American family is becoming more real for more people every day. For years now, fans have been speaking out about the rising prices. Executives, on the other hand, have typically just justified these prices as necessary.

Families Take to Social Media to Bid Disney Adieu

Whether it’s been a Disney vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort or going to the Southern California Disneyland Resort, everyone would agree it costs a ton more to afford an enjoyable Disney experience at the parks. It seems like with the recent Magic Keys sale, it’s officially become too much for some.

One former Disney guest took to social media to share, “I am unfortunately unable to pay to renew my Magic Keys, 19th and 20th will be my last trips to Disneyland for a while. God speed all you magic key renewals. Have a magical year everyone!”

It has been an honor

Fans in the comments were in similar boats to the OP. One commented, “I’m also done this year I think. Everything has gotten too expensive.”

Another explained,

It might sound dramatic, but I feel like I’m fighting with the park every time I go. Fighting the lines (even when it’s not crowded wtf), fighting prices, fighting CMs (not really fighting – they’re the best, but they really seem like they don’t want to be there), fighting just to get in (reservations), the list goes on.”

The user continued that previously, it felt like their worries melted away at Disney, and now, they are “concerned about how much every step I take is going to cost.”

However, there were also guests who could choose to renew—they could afford it, but they were choosing not to do so. They shared that the Disney theme park experience had lost its touch over the years, and the once immersive environment was no longer quite the same.

It’s certainly an unfortunate turn of events to see the Disney vacation experience that was once designed to be for anyone and everyone become more and more inaccessible to most fans.
