Why You Want to Stay at a Disney Deluxe Resort

Walt Disney World offers three main categories when it comes to their onsite Resorts for Guests.  These categories are value, moderate, and deluxe.  We have already looked at why you might want to stay at a value or a moderate Disney Resort.  Now we are going to dive into the advantages of staying at a Disney Deluxe Resort.

At Walt Disney World there are numerous Deluxe Resorts to choose from.  In the Magic Kingdom area, you have Disney’s Polynesian Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, Disney’s Contemporary, and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

For those looking around the EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios area, you will find Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club Resorts as well as Disney’s Boardwalk Resort.  You could also include the new Disney Riviera Resort that is on the skyliner.

Finally, the beautiful Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge gives Guests a once in a lifetime experience.

Being part of the Deluxe Resort category means that these Disney Resorts are on the higher end when it comes to cost compared to the value and moderate resorts.  When determining if these Resorts are worth the cost, there are some top reasons you might want to stay at one during your Walt Disney World vacation.

Walt Disney World Monorail

Location

One of the top reasons that the Deluxe Resorts are popular with those visiting Walt Disney World is because of their locations.  As we mentioned early, they are each located extremely close to at least one of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks.

Disney’s Polynesian Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, as well as Disney’s Contemporary are all a quick monorail ride away from Magic Kingdom.  Each of them now also has a walking path making it easy to get to Magic Kingdom during your vacation.  For those having a Magic Kingdom-focused vacation, staying at one of these Deluxe Resorts can be extremely beneficial.

When focusing on EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Guests will want to look at those Deluxe Resorts around Crescent Lake.  Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club Resorts as well as Disney’s Boardwalk Resort are all an easy walk or boat ride away from TWO of Disney’s Theme Parks.

Disney’s Riviera Resort offers an easy skyliner ride to both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT making it a fantastic choice if you are focusing on these two Disney Theme Parks during your vacation.

If you are one that likes to control your travel time by walking to and from the Disney Resorts, the Deluxe Resorts at Walt Disney World are excellent options.

Food Choices

If dining is a big part of your Walt Disney World vacation, then staying at a Deluxe Resort is a good option.  The Deluxe Resorts offer a variety of amazing dining options for Guests to enjoy during their stay.

For those looking for upscale dining options, the Deluxe Resorts provide some of the top choices in Walt Disney World.

California Grill, located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, is one of the top signature dining locations.  Yatchman’s Steakhouse, Saana, O’hana, and Naracoose are all some of the top dining options in Walt Disney World all located at a Disney Resort.

You can also find some great lounges throughout the Deluxe Resorts.  These are great ways to experience the Resorts as well as some amazing drinks.  At Disney’s Polynesian Resort, the famous Trader’s Sam is full of excitement and entertainment.

For a more relaxed experience, you will want to check out the Enchanted Rose at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

Even if you are looking for a quick meal, the Deluxe Resorts offer a variety of great options.  From Captain Cooks at Disney’s Polynesian Resort to the Contempo Cafe at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, there are a lot of quick options that families will enjoy as well.

Dining at the Deluxe Resorts offers some amazing options.  No matter what you prefer for food, the Deluxe Resorts will provide you with a variety of delicious options.

Beach Club Pool

Amenities

Another main reason to stay at a Walt Disney World Deluxe Resort is because of the amenities that they offer Guests during their stay.

For those that like to swim, the Deluxe Resorts offer some of the best pools on Disney Property.  Stormalong Bay over at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club Resorts not only has an outstanding slide for kids, but it also has a lazy river, and a sand bottom area for little ones to play with.

No matter which Walt Disney World Deluxe Resort you choose to stay at, you will find that the pools have slides and the Resorts also offer quiet pools as an option as well.

Walt Disney World Deluxe Rooms are also larger than those found in both the value and moderate resorts.  If your family needs some extra room during your vacation, these Resorts are an excellent option.

They also offer a variety of different room layouts if that is something that your family dynamics require.  Some of the bathrooms are also separate giving everyone more room to get ready in the mornings before heading to the Parks.

Disney Deluxe Resorts just offer a little bit more when it comes to its amenities.  If you prefer a Resort with a little bit more dining, room, and entertainment options then a Deluxe Resort is what you will want to book for your Walt Disney World vacation.

Extended Evening Hours

Finally, a big reason you might want to stay at a Walt Disney World Resort is because of the opportunity to attend the extended evening hours.

On select evenings at both EPCOT and Magic Kingdom, Guests staying at a Deluxe Resort are able to experience the Park after it closes to other Guests.

These evening hours are an excellent time to experience extremely low wait times at some of the most popular rides throughout the Parks.  Disney also recently announced that those attending the extended evening hours at EPCOT will be able to try to join a virtual queue at 6 pm for just those staying at a Disney Deluxe Resort.  This is going to be a huge advantage and a great reason to stay at a Deluxe Resort this summer.

When deciding where you want to stay when in Walt Disney World, the Deluxe Resorts offer excellent choices.  With amazing dining, pools, and a close location to the Disney Parks, staying at a Deluxe Resort can be a wonderful experience.
