Why You Should Stay at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Each Walt Disney World Resort provides a fantastic experience for guests visiting Walt Disney World. They create magical experiences just like Disney parks do. One of the most iconic Disney resorts is Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

This deluxe resort is on the pricer side, but we also think it is worth the cost. We have some top reasons why you should consider a stay at Disney’s Contemporary Resort during your next Walt Disney World stay.

Monorail

One of the main reasons you should consider booking a stay at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is the monorail. Disney’s Contemporary Resort is located directly on the monorail and provides quick and easy access to the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT.

This is the only Disney resort where the monorail rides through the central tower of the resort. Guests are one stop from the Ticket and Transportation Center (TTC), where they can quickly transfer to the EPCOT monorail.

The monorail also provides quick access to the two other monorail resorts. Disney’s Polynesian Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa are only a few stops away. This gives guests access to even more dining and shopping options. Grab a drink at Trader Sam’s or have a signature meal at Citricos.

Finally, when wanting to leave the Magic Kingdom, the monorail ride is quick as Disney’s Contemporary Resort is the first stop.

Being right on the monorail line is why you should stay at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

Walking Path to Magic Kingdom

We already mentioned how easy the monorail makes getting to both EPCOT and Magic Kingdom, but there is an even easier way. Disney’s Contemporary Resort provides a walking path to the Magic Kingdom.

This path takes only a few minutes and has a security line to make the trip to Magic Kingdom quickly. If you like to take breaks in the afternoon or have little ones that need a nap, being able to walk back to your resort is extremely convenient.

Following the fireworks at Magic Kingdom, having a walking path is fantastic. You can quickly return to your resort room without relying on or waiting on Disney transportation.

A walking path to the Magic Kingdom is a huge reason you want to book Disney’s Contemporary Resort for your next vacation.

Incredible Rooms

Disney’s Contemporary Resort recently went through a refurbishment where all the rooms were updated. These new rooms are based on the Incredibles but aren’t over the top. The theme is still modern and sleek, with excellent coloring, lots of storage, and of course, tons of USB and charging areas.

If you want a magical experience, consider booking one of the theme park view rooms. You can see Cinderella Castle, Space Mountain, Tron, and the fireworks at night. There is something extraordinary about seeing these views from your resort room.

We love the newly updated rooms at Disney’s Contemporary Resort; the views make it a must-do experience.

Dining Options

There is fantastic dining at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, making it a must-visit spot even when we aren’t staying here during our trips. From quick service to signature dining, guests will find a meal they enjoy.

Contempo Cafe is a quick-service location that provides a variety of fresh and delicious burgers, salads, and pizzas. Guests can enjoy a character meal at Chef Mickey’s for some excitement.

Chef Mickey’s is one of the most popular character meals at Walt Disney World. Here, guests can enjoy a buffet at breakfast or dinner full of classic favorites like Mickey waffles.

For a more relaxed meal, head to Steakhouse 71, the newest dining option at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. It provides fantastic entrees, drinks, and desserts.

Finally, California Grill is a signature dining experience at the top of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. This restaurant provides one of the best views of Walt Disney World. Guests can take it to Seven Seas Lagoon and Magic Kingdom from this location.

Pools

Guests staying at Disney’s Contemporary Resort can dip in two pools. The Feature Pool is family-friendly and was just updated. Guests will enjoy daily activities, a slide, and even hot tubs.

You can also find fountains, waterspouts, and a futuristic water playground near the Bay Lake Pool. This is great for those little ones.

Those looking for a quieter experience can head to the quieter pool. Here, you can rent a cabana and experience a whole day relaxing at the pool. We love swimming while watching the monorail go by or catch boats on Bay Lake.

Additional Activities

Disney’s Contemporary Resort has a variety of activities that make a stay here full of fun. On select evenings on the Contemporary Courtyard grass, you can enjoy a movie under the stars. In this same area, you can enjoy a campfire each evening. You can roast marshmallows, which are available at the gift shops.

Find an excellent game station that is full of thrills and fun. The Game Station has been updated and is even better than ever before. This is found on the 4th floor and is available for fun throughout the day.

Those wanting to shoot some hoops will also find a small basketball court available. You can also rent boats for fishing, a quick ride around Seven Seas Lagoon, or back to Bay Lake.

Many great activities are available at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, making it a fantastic place to stay.

There are many fantastic reasons to stay at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. We hope that you will consider staying here during your next Disney vacation.
