Magic Kingdom

When people think of Magic Kingdom they probably don’t think of thrill rides, but they would be wrong.  Magic Kingdom has a variety of thrilling attractions that Guests wanting a little more excitement to their day will enjoy.

The top thrill ride attraction in Magic Kingdom is Space Mountain located in Tomorrowland.  This indoor coaster takes Guests on a ride through space like never before.  Shooting stars, satellites and comets zoom past as you fly by in your rocket ship in the dark.

You will get tossed around a little on this ride so be prepared if you board the rocket!

Splash Mountain is the next thrilling attraction in Magic Kingdom located in Frontierland.  This water log ride is a favorite of many Disney Guests.

With three dips and one large five-story drop it is perfect for thrill seekers.  It is also fun for those that are into getting wet as you never know when the cannon might get you soaked with water during those summer months.

Also tucked over in Frontierland, this wildest ride in the wilderness will live up to that statement. This runaway train will take you through abandoned mine shafts and caverns as it drops and darts through the town of Tumbleweed.

Less bumpy than Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain is advertised as a family coaster; however, some are intense with loud noises and dark areas.

Magic Kingdom will be adding to the thrills hopefully in 2022 with the opening of the Tron coaster.  We can’t wait to experience this high-speed attraction.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, thrill seekers can take on a yeti, try to rescue a dinosaur and fly on the back of a banshee.

Expedition Everest- Legend of the Forbidden Mountain is one of the top thrilling coasters in all of Walt Disney World.  Guests climb up high before racing into darkness and then without warning sent backwards twisting and turning along the way.

Get ready to travel back into time with a thrilling ride that has Guests racing to rescue a dinosaur before a meteor strikes.  This ride straps Guests into a time rover that takes them through a historical, thrilling journey with life-like dinosaurs.

This ride is dark and loud with hairpin turns and large dinosaurs that jump out at you around every corner.  If you don’t like jump-scare experiences, maybe sit this one out.

Avatar Flight of Passage is our final thrilling ride in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and it is a different type of thrill.  Guests climb on the back of a banshee and are flown around the beautiful landscape of Pandora.

This isn’t an intense thrill, but more about a breathtaking experience as you breathe in the beauty of Pandora.  There are a few intense moments as not everything is calm in Pandora, but overall it is a calmer experience.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom offers some great, thrilling and unique ride experiences.

EPCOT

In EPCOT there are a few attractions that thrill seekers will have a fantastic time on.

The first ride is an out of this work experience on Mission: Space.  Here Guests can blast off on a thrilling NASA-style mission to Mars.

This simulation is as close to being an astronaut as many of us will ever get. This isn’t for the weak as you dodge meteorites and slingshot around the moon. Strap in for this space expedition.

Our second thrilling ride in EPCOT is Test Track.  Even though those that drive might not feel like Test Track is thrilling, younger teens and preteens find the rush of this ride super exciting. After creating your car, you then bucket up and take a spin on the test track. See how your car does in different situations with a final test of a 65 mph rush outside.

Like with Avatar Flight of Passage in EPCOT, we feel that Soarin Around the World is a thrilling experience. The thrill on this ride comes from the feeling of flying over different world icons. The beauty of these scenes is breathtaking. Even though you aren’t being launched, tossed, or thrown, we still find Soarin a great thrilling experience.

Once again, EPCOT provides thrill seekers a variety of ride experiences to choose from during their visit to Walt Disney World.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The top Disney Park for thrill seekers in our opinion is Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  We think that this Park has so much to offer those wanting a more intense Disney experience.

Rock n’ Roller Coaster is a highly thrilling ride found in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This ride is a launch coaster taking Guests quickly into three inversions and two rollover loops and on corkscrew- all in the dark. You can rock away with this coaster as each vehicle will blast different Aerosmith songs during the ride. Hang on tight, though, because this ride will be over before you know it.

Right near Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is the Twlilight Zone Tower of Terror another thrilling choice in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  Guests board the service elevator and travel through the abandoned hotel. The hydrograms of the lost passengers can be intense enough for some, but the real thrill comes with the dropping and rising unexpectedly. If you aren’t a fan of drops, this is one you might want to sit out.

Finally, the top ride in all of Walt Disney World right now is Rise of the Resistance.  This ride takes Guests into the Star Wars movies like never before.  As you travel through the story, you are put into intense situations. From the interactions of the First Order to the race to safety and interaction with Kylo Ren there’s so much to take in! We love this ride and find it super thrilling.

If you are looking for a thrilling experience, you can definitely find it in Walt Disney World at the four Disney Parks.  Be ready to race through space, soar high with a banshee and and drop into good times.

Don’t worry!  If you have little ones, we have you covered as well HERE with rides they can enjoy in Walt Disney World.
