What To Do When Weather Impacts Your Disney Trip

It can be a big bummer when the weather impacts your Walt Disney World vacation. If you happen to have a day or two that is impacted by weather, the magic isn’t all lost.

We have ten ways to enjoy Walt Disney World when the weather is less than ideal.

Indoor Activities

If you have tickets and Park pass reservations that you don’t want to go to waste because of the weather, look for the indoor options throughout all four Disney Parks.

Look to find the attractions that continue to run even in bad weather conditions. Many of the rides in Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland are indoors making this land a good option when it rains. You can quickly move from ride to ride avoiding long periods of time outdoors.

In EPCOT, the Seas Pavilion is a fantastic place to wait out the rain. The aquarium has so much to see that Guests can have hours of fun. Bruce’s Play area is also fun for little ones to explore.

While in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, consider catching Festival of the Lion King or Finding Nemo: Big Blue and Beyond.  These are longer shows giving you a nice amount of time out of the weather.

Make sure you know where to find those indoor experiences so the weather will have less of an impact on your Park day.

Another great option for those less-than-pleasant days is to head to Disney Springs. Here you can enjoy a movie at the outstanding AMC theater.

Experience the amazing comfort of heated, reclining seats as you enjoy your movie.

For a truly breathtaking show, consider getting tickets to Drawn to Life the newest Cirque du Soleil show that takes place at Disney Springs. Go on a journey full of imagination and creativity as you enjoy the amazing talents of these performers.

You can also go bowling at Disney Springs. Splitsville Luxury Lanes is an expansive bowling alley that not only provides great entertainment but also good food.

All of these options at Disney Springs are great for those days full of rain. They provide great fun and excitement for the whole family.

If you have good rain gear, you can put it on and continue to enjoy the Parks. You don’t have to avoid the Parks if it is raining. Grab a good poncho, umbrella, and water shoes and enjoy the great experience throughout the Parks.

As we mentioned before, you can enjoy a lot of the Parks even when it is rainy. Many of the shows and rides can still be experienced during the rain. By coming prepared with rain gear you can continue to enjoy even in the rain.

Ziplock Bags

Plastic Bags

Make sure when you are traveling to Walt Disney World that, bring plastic bags. These can be extremely helpful throughout the trip especially when it rains.

We like to have ziplocs to put our items in to keep them dry. It is also nice to have larger plastic bags to for backpacks or shoes when they get wet. It is amazon how many uses we can get out of ziplocs and plastic bags.

During a rainy day, it is also fun to experience some of the lounges throughout Walt Disney World. There are some extremely well-themed lounges found throughout the Walt Disney World Resorts.

We enjoy Enchanted Rose at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa with the beautiful chandelier that is based on Belle’s beautiful ballgown.

For an upbeat, exciting experience head to Trader Sam’s at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Here you will enjoy not only fantastic drinks but you will also be entertained throughout your evening.

Lounges throughout Walt Disney World are super fun.

Finally, if you have a rainy day, take time to enjoy some downtime. Rest, relax and allow yourself to slow down. It can often be difficult to do, but it is so important to allow yourself to slow down at times during your Walt Disney World vacation.

A rainy day is a great time to enjoy Disney+ and enjoy some rest before heading back to the Parks.

It can be disappointing when the weather impacts your trip, but hopefully, these ideas will help you with some fun ways you can still enjoy the magic even when the weather isn’t perfect.
