Top Technologies You’ll Want for Walt Disney World

When traveling to Walt Disney World you will want to make sure that you have the technology to help you have a fantastic trip. To make sure you are ready, we have the top technologies that will help make your trip so much easier.

My Disney Experience App

Phone

Step one is to make sure you have a smartphone. Guests traveling to Walt Disney World will need to have access to My Disney Experience, the official app of Walt Disney World.

Because of how essential this app is to a successful Disney vacation, making sure you have a phone to access it is extremely important. Make sure that everyone that needs help with planning and navigating the Parks has a phone to do it successfully.

Portable Charger

Because it is so important for Guests to have a smartphone in order to connect to My Disney Experience, it is also extremely important to keep those smartphones charged.

Make sure that you have portable chargers for everyone. Consider bringing one larger one or multiple small ones. The My Disney Experience app is so important for navigating the Parks, but it also drains your battery quickly. Avoid a dead phone by making sure you have a portable charger.

All the Apps

Make sure that your phone is ready by having specific apps downloaded. As we have mentioned, you will want to make sure that you have the My Disney Experience app ready to go. This is how you will connect to all things Disney throughout your vacation. The My Disney Experience app will give you wait times, allow you to use Genie+ and mobile order, and even find the nearest bathrooms. Make sure that you have this app downloaded and ready prior to your trip.

You will also want to make sure that you have a weather app downloaded. Staying ahead of the rainstorms in Florida is key. Take time to look into apps such as WeatherBug or Accuweather for apps that provide up-to-date notifications.

Play Disney is another app that you will want to have downloaded. This app interacts with the lands throughout Walt Disney World. You can play games or do trivia. It is a fun way to learn more about Walt Disney World.

Entertainment

You will also want to make sure you have apps downloaded to keep everyone entertained. This is important during your travel as well as while enjoying the Parks.

A top app besides Play Disney that is great for keeping everyone entertained is Heads Up! This app is perfect for family members of all ages. You can do this with a large group and everyone can choose their topics as well. Work together to give the best clues possible to gain points.

If you have little ones, come prepared with shows downloaded as well. Making sure you have some favorites easily accessible can be extremely helpful in keeping those little ones calm when those meltdowns happen.

Fitbit

When in Walt Disney World you will be walking a lot throughout the Parks and Resorts. Keep track of your steps and distance by having your Fitbit, Apple Watch or another exercise tracker. This can be a great way to see how many steps you are accomplishing each day of your trip.

Medical

You never want to end up sick when on vacation, but unfortunately it does happen. Be prepared for this situation by having medical apps downloaded and ready.

Make sure you have a way to connect to your health insurance but also look into virtual assistance that might be covered and provided by your carrier. Being able to make a virtual appointment for ear infections, sinus infections, and similar conditions can save you a lot of frustration. These appointments are often quick and can provide solutions quickly.

Having these apps downloaded ahead of time can save you frustration when the need for them comes up.

Computer/iPad

You won’t be taking these into the Parks with you, but they are nice to have back at your Disney Resort. Being able to watch shows or complete work on a larger screen can be extremely convenient.

Using an iPad for kids to watch shows or play games is a nice way to get everyone some much-needed downtime after a busy day in the Parks.

Headphones

Make sure that everyone has headphones for the trip. These are extremely helpful for watching shows, listening to music, or even canceling out noise.

If you have Bluetooth headphones, make sure that you also pack extra chargers so they don’t lose power.

Headphones can also be helpful if you have anyone that struggles with loud noises. Disney constantly has noise. From rides, music, and fireworks there is always noise. Help make the experience slightly quieter by bringing noise-canceling headphones.

 Speaker

Another item you might want to bring with you is a portable speaker. These can be fun to have at the pool or even in your room as you get ready for the day. Keep in mind those around you when using it, but have fun as well.

Fan/noise machine

As we mentioned, Walt Disney World is noisy. If you have people that struggle sleeping with outside noise, consider bringing a fan or noise machine. These can be helpful when it comes to drowning out some of the outside noise and allowing everyone to get some rest.

Those are the top technologies that you will want to bring with you to Walt Disney World. These items will help your trip be that much better.
