Top 10 Best Meals Money Can Buy at Walt Disney World

Caseys Corner

No Disney vacation is complete until I have enjoyed a few good meals at the resort. While Walt Disney World has a reputation for being a haven for thrill seekers that enjoy the rides and shows in the parks it is also a culinary experience that is sure to tempt any foodie. I could talk for days about the delicious food on the Walt Disney World property, but for now I will break down my thoughts into a short list.

10. Hot Dogs and Fries at Casey’s Corner

Hot dog and fries might seem like an unlikely start to this list. However, the fresh hotdogs at Casey’s Corner are really hard to beat. This iconic American food is so at home on the corner of Main Street U.S.A. The beautiful tables in the courtyard outside the entrance, hearty condiment bar and crispy, hot fries make it a Magic Kingdom favorite for many families. The restaurant is a great value, offers quick service and is a family favorite for all ages.

9. French Onion Soup at Be Our Guest

The authentic and flavorful French onion soup at Be Our Guest restaurant in the Magic Kingdom is similar to the dish served at Chefs de France in Epcot. Sautéed onions simmered in a delicious beef stock topped with a thick crouton and melted gruyere cheese is irresistible. I always make this large “appetizer” my meal when dining at Be Our Guest. Every ounce is steaming and delicious.

8. Flatbreads at Contempo Café, Contemporary Resort

The smoked pulled pork flatbread and the blackened chicken flatbread are the reason I visit Contempo Café. These fresh flatbreads remind me of the delicious flatbread appetizers a few floors up at Contemporary’s California Grill. A flatbread is large enough for a dinner or a great afternoon snack for your gang to share. At around thirteen dollars per flatbread this is a unique snack at a great price.

7. Beignets at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, Port Orleans French Quarter

The steaming, sugary beignets at Port Orleans French quarter are as delectable as you will find this side of the big easy! For those new to beignets, think of a hot fried doughnut dusted heartily with powdered sugar. Beignets are the perfect breakfast or snack and are worth a trip to this resort to enjoy them. Enjoy the vibrant and fun Mardi Gras themed dining room as you enjoy this sweet treat!

6. Fish & Chips at Yorkshire County Fish Shop

The hot fish and chips splashed with vinegar are a delicious meal in Epcot. This heavy and hearty meal can be purchased quickly from the counter service cart in the United Kingdom and eaten on the go. At fewer than ten dollars per dish the fish and chips are an incredible value and the best you can find at Walt Disney World.

5. Tonga Toast & Kona Coffee at Kona Café

Your morning will be off to a great start when you visit Kona Café for breakfast. The Tonga toast keeps visitors coming back for more and the French press Kona Coffee will jolt you off to a great day in the parks. Tonga Toast is a great value at under fifteen dollars per plate. This warm, sugary, banana and strawberry filled treat is large and hearty making it the perfect sharing size. The Kona French press is rich and robust; it is the perfect serving for three family members.

4. Pork Two Ways at California Grill

I must preface this by saying; California Grill is famous for its seasonal cooking. Visiting at different times of the year may mean a change in the menu at California Grill. My time tested favorite at this restaurant is Pork Two Ways. The dish features an expertly grilled pork loin on a bed of goat cheese polenta accompanied by pork belly in a homemade applesauce. No description can prepare you for an entrée so delicious.

3. Roast Chicken Dinner at Chefs de France

The roast chicken and vegetables at Chefs de France are so flavorful and delicious. The portion is hearty making it a great entrée for sharing. This dish is succulent and authentically French while also being light enough to enjoy on a warm day in Epcot.

2. 1900 Park Fare

This charming restaurant in the Grand Floridian boasts a fresh and delicious buffet. The fresh Florida strawberry soup is my favorite dish at 1900 Park Fare. This is a character meal so Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine and the evil stepsisters drop by your table to say hello while you enjoy roast pork loin, shrimp and dozens of other delicious sides, salads and desserts.
Ohana

1. Dinner at Ohana in Polynesian Resort

This is consistently the high point of my trips to Walt Disney World. Right on the monorail line, Ohana is easily accessible after a long day in the Magic Kingdom. The copious amount of oak grilled meats and Polynesian side dishes are to die for. Dinner is bottomless so you can enjoy all the grilled shrimp, beef and pork that you want. The Hawaiian sweet noodles and grilled chicken wings are two of my favorite dishes at Ohana. The dinner culminates with delicious and hot bread pudding.
