How Disney World Handles Frequent Biohazards on Rides

Have you ever wondered how Walt Disney World Resort manages the not-so-magical messes on its attractions? A recent insider revelation has shed light on how Disney cast members handle biohazards on one of Magic Kingdom Park’s most interactive rides: Tomorrowland Speedway.

Walt Disney World Resort is known as the Most Magical Place on Earth, but real life doesn’t stop at the gates. Accidents, illnesses, and the occasional biohazard are unavoidable when thousands of guests visit daily. Whether it’s a missed bathroom trip, motion sickness, or a sudden illness like norovirus, Disney cast members are trained to handle these situations efficiently and discreetly.

Disney Park guests are encouraged to alert the nearest cast member if they experience or notice a biohazard. Specialized custodial teams are equipped with industrial-grade cleaning solutions to ensure attractions, dining areas, and other public spaces are thoroughly sanitized without causing a spectacle.

Recently, a Disney Parks fan explained how cast members deal with biohazards on Tomorrowland Speedway. The iconic Magic Kingdom Park attraction lets guests drive gas-powered cars along a rail-guided track. According to Redditor u/angruss, Disney cast members have a unique method for addressing messes on the vehicles:

“If you ever see a Tomorrowland Speedway cast member riding on the outside gas pedal of an empty car to remove it from the track, it’s because a kid peed in that car,” the Disney Parks fan shared. “…[It could be] any biohazard material, but on Speedway it’s mostly pee.”

This practical, if unusual, method allows cast members to remove soiled vehicles from the track while minimizing disruption to the guest experience or risking their own safety. Once removed, the cars undergo a thorough cleaning before being reintroduced to the ride.

What to Do if an Accident Happens

For guests needing immediate assistance after a medical episode or accident, Disney offers multiple resources to help them recover without interrupting their day. First Aid and Baby Care Centers are available at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and Disney Springs. These facilities are equipped to provide first aid, private changing areas, and other accommodations for families.

Guests can also request additional support, such as assistance with cleaning up after accidents, by visiting Guest Relations or speaking with a nearby cast member.
