Secrets in Magic Kingdom You Won’t Want to Miss

As you plan your vacation to Walt Disney World, we highly recommend spending a few days in Magic Kingdom.  As the iconic Walt Disney World Theme Park, it has the most when it comes to rides, attractions, shows, and overall magical experiences to choose from.

Even though there isn’t a lack of things to do in Magic Kingdom, we want to share some secrets that you won’t want to miss out on.  These are top attractions, but they will still bring Disney magic to you as you enjoy your Disney vacation.

Have a Meal at Sleepy Hollow

One of our favorite places to have a meal or a snack is near Sleepy Hollow in Liberty Square.  This little quick-service location is right next to the castle and it is amazing for people watching and just enjoying the views.

Grab a delicious waffle sandwich and take time to enjoy the views. Most people are quick to eat and leave, but we encourage you to slow down and relax.

Relax on the Hub Grass

Sometimes we get so busy rushing from ride to ride that we forget to stop and smell the roses.  Or in this case, stop and enjoy the view.  One of the most magical experiences we have had in Magic Kingdom is when we relaxed in front of Cinderella Castle on the hub grass and just hung out together.

This theme Park location during the day is the perfect spot to just breathe in all the magic. Our favorite is to grab our favorite snack and then just be. If you have little ones, this is a great spot for them to crawl or walk around without getting run over by other Guests. We truly find this such a magical experience in Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park.

Book a Capture Your Moment Session

Guests are able to book a special photography session with one of Disney’s great Photopass Photographers.  Called Capture Your Moment, this session gives you 1:1 time throughout Magic Kingdom.

You can reserve a personalized 20-minute spot with a Disney PhotoPass photographer that will help you capture those special moments. This is a hidden gem that we encourage you to take advantage of during your next trip. You can make your fairy tale come true as you take pictures in front of the iconic Cinderella Castle.

Walk Through the Castle

We all take time to have pictures taken in front of the castle, but what about walking around it or through it.  If you have never taken the time to walk through the castle we highly recommend you do so.

Located in the walkway are five beautiful mosaic murals that retell the story of Cinderella.  The detail in each of these mosaics is breathtaking.

This area is truly magical and brings the story of Cinderella to life through art.  Most Guests don’t take time to enjoy the beauty that is found in the walkway during their Magic Kingdom day.  Slow down during your next visit and enjoy all the magical details.

Main St. Vehicles

Enjoy Main Street, U.S.A.

Main Street, U.S.A. welcomes Guests to the Magic Kingdom and so many of us just walk right through it.  This is the first land we come to when visiting.  Take time to look at all the magic and the details.

Down a small alleyway before you get to Starbucks you can find a quiet seating area.  In this area, you can get silhouettes done of your kids for a small fee.  This is a great option to get throughout all your visits to show the growth of your little ones.

This alleyway also has magical touches if you listen carefully.  Up in the windows, you might hear people practicing and conversations happening.

All of the windows down this iconic street have meaning.  Take some time to find out the secrets behind them during your trip.

Aunt Polly’s on Tom Sawyer Island

We think that Tom Sawyer Island is a hidden gem in and of itself a lot of times. Taking a raft ride over the island is a fun attraction. It is a great place to get away from the crowds of Magic Kingdom, allow kids to be kids, and just enjoy the day together.

Another specific aspect on Tom Sawyer Island we think is a hidden gem is Aunt Polly’s. This dining location isn’t always open, but it is an excellent place to get food that isn’t as busy. If it isn’t open, the outdoor seating area often is open and offers a great place for relaxing and eating a snack you might have in your bag. We highly recommend looking into Aunt Polly’s while exploring Frontierland and discovering the details in a Disney Park.

Find the Golden Statues

Even though most Guests will notice these new golden statues throughout Magic Kingdom, we find them a great way to explore Magic Kingdom.  Keep track of which ones your find by taking fun photos at each time.

Soon, Guests will have the opportunity to purchase the new MagicBand+ that will interact with these statues.  This will add a whole new element of fun.

We have a whole list of favorite rides in Magic Kingdom HERE, but we also enjoy these secret hidden gems in Magic Kingdom as well.  Consider trying one or two of them out during your next Walt Disney World vacation.  There is so much magic to experience throughout Walt Disney World that sometimes we need a reminder to slow down and enjoy it.
