Reasons Why Disney Deluxe Resorts Are Worth the Splurge

One of the most significant decisions that Guests must make for their Walt Disney World vacation is where to stay. Walt Disney World offers three great Resort categories for Guests to choose from. Each category (value, moderate, deluxe) offers different price points and amenities for Guests.

Disney Deluxe Resorts are some of the best Resorts Disney has to offer. They come at a higher price point but for good reason. These Disney Resorts offer Guests so much, and we will share why you might want to choose to stay at one of these Disney Resorts during your next Walt Disney World vacation.

What Disney Resorts are Deluxe?

At Walt Disney World, there are numerous Deluxe Resorts to choose from. In the Magic Kingdom area, you have Disney’s Polynesian Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, Disney’s Contemporary, and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

Those around the EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios area will find Disney’s Beach, Yacht Club Resorts, and Disney’s Boardwalk Resort. You could also include the new Disney Riviera Resort on the skyliner.

Finally, the beautiful Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge gives Guests a once in a lifetime experience.

Location is Key

One of the main reasons you will want to stay at a Deluxe Resort is the location. These Resorts are close to at least one of Walt Disney World’s Parks.

Disney’s Polynesian Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, and Disney’s Contemporary are quick monorail rides away from Magic Kingdom. Each has a walking path making it easy to get to Magic Kingdom during your vacation. For those having a Magic Kingdom-focused vacation, staying at one of these Deluxe Resorts can be highly beneficial.

When focusing on EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Guests will want to look at those Deluxe Resorts around Crescent Lake. Disney’s Beach, Yacht Club Resorts, and Disney’s Boardwalk Resort are all an easy walk or boat ride away from TWO of Disney’s Theme Parks.

Disney’s Riviera Resort offers an easy skyliner ride to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT, making it a fantastic choice if you focus on these two Disney Theme Parks during your vacation.

If you like to control your travel time by walking to and from Disney Resorts, the Deluxe Resorts at Walt Disney World are excellent options.

Extended Evening Hours

Extended evening hours are only offered to Guests staying at a Deluxe Resort. Guests staying at a Deluxe Resort will have access to a specific Park (typically EPCOT or Magic Kingdom) after the Park has closed to regular Guests.

During this time, Guests can enjoy low crowds giving them access to some of the most popular rides at Walt Disney World. Extended evening hours, Guests can even ride the popular Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

During the upcoming summer months, when the Parks are extremely hot and crowded, the extended evening hours are a great way to enjoy a cooler and less crowded Park. As they are only offered on specific days, check the schedule to see if your stay matches one of these offerings.

Great Food Options

If dining is an essential part of your Walt Disney World vacation experience, staying at a deluxe Resort will be a great option. These amazing Resorts offer some of the top dining experiences at Walt Disney World. From signature-high end dining experiences to quick-service options with well-flavored entrees, the dining at Disney Deluxe Resorts is top-notch.

California Grill, located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, is one of the top signature dining locations. Yatchman’s Steakhouse, Saana, O’hana, and Naracoose are some dining options in Walt Disney World at a Disney Resort.

Even if you are looking for a quick meal, the Deluxe Resorts offer various great options.

You can also find some great lounges throughout the Deluxe Resorts. These are great ways to experience the Resorts and some fantastic drinks. The famous Trader’s Sam is excited and entertained at Disney’s Polynesian Resort.

For a more relaxed experience, you will want to check out the Enchanted Rose at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

We love visiting the Disney lounges at the Deluxe Resorts. The fantastic theming and great drinks are all part of the magic.

Pools

For those that like to swim, the Deluxe Resorts offer some of the best pools on Disney Property. Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club Resorts not only has a great slide for kids, but it also has a lazy river and a sand bottom area for little ones to play with.

The pool at Disney’s Contemporary Resort was just redone, giving it a new, fresh look that is perfect for families. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge offers Guests two great pool options when they stay here.

We also enjoy that most deluxe Resorts have what Disney calls quiet pools. These are typically not themed but lovely pool areas perfect for a more tranquil swimming experience.

No matter which Walt Disney World Deluxe Resort you choose to stay at, you will find that the pools have slides, and the Resorts also offer quiet pools as an option as well.
