Questions You NEED To Ask Yourself When Packing For a Disney Vacation

Once you have planned your Disney vacation, arranged transport and accommodation, and made your advance dining reservations and Disney Park Reservations, it’s time to consider packing. When the time comes to pack, your Walt Disney World vacation will likely be days away. The excitement is building, and it feels very real.

While packing is exciting, it can also be a little stressful. However, if you plan to give yourself time, you will likely have a successful packing experience with minimum stress. To help with this, ask yourself these questions when packing for your upcoming Disney trip.

Have you made a Disney packing list?

Listing everything you intend to take to the Walt Disney World Resort helps you organize your luggage. It also reduces the chance of you forgetting to take something. We always have particular things on our Disney packing list, including our Magic Band or Magic Band+, rain poncho, and Disney Park bag.

Have you considered the weather?

While the Florida climate delivers sunshine consistently, the different seasons can bring varied weather conditions to a Disney vacation. Likewise, Lake Buena Vista can be known for its thunderstorms and rain showers, which can drastically affect your days in the Disney Parks. We recommend checking the weather in the week leading up to your Disney vacation. Also, consider the time of year you are visiting and the expected weather conditions in the Walt Disney World Resort around that time. You can then tailor your packing to suit.

Have you planned your outfits?

Planning your outfits ahead of a Disney vacation is helpful. Doing so can help you only to pack what you will need, reducing the chance of overweight luggage. Planning also means that you take all the clothes you intend to wear, decreasing the chance of forgetting to pack something.

We also love to plan our outfits to suit the Disney Park we visit daily. Animal and floral prints are perfect for a day in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Meanwhile, pastel colors and a magical theme fit days in Magic Kingdom Park. Bound with Star Wars or Toy Story (1995) in mind when visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios. As for EPCOT, go for something futuristic or world travel-inspired.

Do you have more than one pair of comfortable shoes?

A Disney vacation involves plenty of walking. Therefore, comfortable shoes are necessary when visiting the Walt Disney World Resort. But make sure to pack more than one pair. It’s always worthwhile having an alternative pair of shoes to wear. Should you have to endure a day of wet weather, you’ll be thankful to have a different pair of shoes to wear while your others dry out at your Disney hotel. Similarly, your old faithful shoes may suddenly begin to rub. Taking a break from them will help to avoid painful blisters.

Are you taking snacks?

Guests of Disney Resort hotels can place grocery orders to pick up upon arrival at Walt Disney World. While this is an excellent service to take advantage of, you may wish to consider packing snacks in your luggage instead. On-the-go breakfast items are great items to pack. They can help keep hunger at bay each morning when enjoying Early Theme Park Entry. While there are plenty of Disney snacks to enjoy around the Walt Disney World Resort, packing your own snacks can help with your budget and keep excess spending to a minimum.

Will you have room for souvenirs?

The Walt Disney Company is known for its variety of merchandise. Actually, it can be difficult to rest the temptation to buy souvenirs when visiting the Walt Disney World Resort. We’re sure you’ll be grateful to save a little room in your luggage for a special something from your Disney vacation. Set an intention to save space when packing so that you can treat yourself if you find something you like.

Are you packing a suitable Disney Park bag?

Days in the Disney Parks call for a suitable bag to carry around. Taking a bag to a Disney Park offers space to keep essentials such as sunscreen, portable charger, ponchos, snacks, water, and more. It’s essential to have a practical bag. A small backpack is our recommendation, as it will offer the space you need for essential items without allowing you to overpack. Remember, you have to carry it around all day!

Have you checked what you won’t need to pack?

Staying in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel provides several benefits to Guests that help to add to their Disney experience. These include having access to an iron, hairdryer, coffee maker, and toiletries in your Guest room. As such, you can leave these items at home and save space in your luggage.

Have you packed medication?

By medication, we don’t just mean any prescriptions that you have. We also suggest the usual medicines that you may require when on vacation. These include medication for allergies, motion sickness, pain relief, and more. Some medication is available on Disney property. However, you can only purchase small quantities for heavily inflated prices. We recommend packing a medication bag filled with all the necessary medicines.

Now that you have all of your answers, it’s time to make your Walt Disney World packing list. Check off each item as you get it ready. Soon enough, you’ll place it all into your luggage and be prepared to leave for your Walt Disney World Resort visit. Have a magical vacation!
