Most Romantic Ideas for the Perfect Disney Date Night

Ever want to plan a romantic evening for your partner at Walt Disney World? There are so many great options for a date night on the property – it can be overwhelming. So we put together a couple of full itineraries for the perfectly romantic Disney Date Night!

A ROMANTIC EVENING AT THE BOARDWALK

One of the most romantic places in the evening at Disney is the Boardwalk area. A boardwalk surrounds the idyllic Crescent Lake, with plenty of space to walk around and explore. Plus it is so cozy all lit up. Here’s what we think a perfect date evening could look like!

Big River Grille & Brewing Works

This is the only working brewpub at the Walt Disney World Resort! This yummy restaurant is located right on the boardwalk, closer to the Atlantic Dance Hall side. Chat over some blackened fish tacos and a couple of of beers to start out the evening. Be sure to leave room for dessert!

Beaches & Cream

Once you’re done with dinner, take a stroll toward the Beach Club. Just outside of their large pool area, Stormalong Bay, is this Walt Disney World classic ice cream shop. Beaches & Cream is known for their Kitchen Sink – 8 scoops of ice cream and every topping they have piled on. But did you know they have a to-go window outside? Grab a couple of cones to go and continue your Boardwalk journey.

EPCOT Fireworks

Have you ever watched the EPCOT fireworks from the boardwalk? The bridge between EPCOT and Disneys BoardWalk Inn is a great spot to see the fireworks pop up over the trees. Head here with your ice cream and soak in the romantic atmosphere.

Once the fireworks conclude, continue walking around the boardwalk. You may spot some live entertainment, bringing a great vibe to the street festival feel!

Belle Vue Lounge

Time for a night cap? Arguably one of the best resort lounges on property is this luxurious spot located just inside the Boardwalk Resort. Up on the second floor you get a great view of the whole area. They have great cocktails and amazing wine choices. I highly recommend the Spice Route Chakalaka Shiraz Blend from South Africa!

Jellyrolls

Jellyrolls

If you are looking for more of an entertainment atmosphere, head to Jellyrolls for some great dueling pianists! Those guys are crazy talented, but the best part of this establishment is FREE POPCORN! There are plenty of decent drinks to choose from, but bottomless popcorn brings the magic. They are open until 1:45a so there is plenty of time to go and enjoy the show!

Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf

Located just outside of the Boardwalk area (within walking distance) is this mini golf course. If you are looking to bond over something more active, this is a great choice! The Fairways course resembles a traditional golf course, but on a miniature scale. (Legend says that Tiger Woods has even played a round here!). This location is only open until 10pm so be mindful of timing.

PROGRESSIVE DINNER AROUND SEVEN SEAS LAGOON

Another location filled with endless possibilities for romantic fun is the Magic Kingdom Resorts area. There are plenty of restaurants and lounge areas to choose from – here is how we would craft a romantic evening there!

The idea of a Progressive Dinner has been increasing in popularity lately. The idea is to be able to try multiple establishments instead of sitting at one restaurant and having a full meal. The monorail loop has great options to bring this idea to life.

The first stop on your Disney Date is the Grand Floridian Resort!

Enchanted Rose

Themed after the live-action Beauty and the Beast, this gorgeous corner of the Walt Disney World property is elegant and romantic. Start here with some small plates – a charcuterie board, and even some truffle fries. The menu offers some beautiful floral specialty cocktails. You can even get fancy with some White Sturgeon Caviar!

Once you are done with your appetizers, head up to the second floor and grab the Monorail! Go two stops down and exit at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

Steakhouse 71 Lounge

This newly renamed and themed restaurant is a great place to head for some larger plates. Located on the first floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, this American steakhouse offers a few dishes that nod to Walt himself. The restaurant recommends making reservations ahead of time, but the lounge is my favorite spot here. Find a couple of spots at the bar where they serve the whole menu! Ask for the eggs and bacon – it’s the best dish at Walt Disney World!

Hop back on the Monorail and exit at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

Tambu Lounge

One of the most famous desserts at Walt Disney World is the ‘Ohana bread pudding. ‘Ohana is next to impossible to get a reservation for, but the SECRET is Tambu Lounge. Pop up to this bar and feast on this mouth-watering dessert without the reservation headache!

Magic Kingdom Fireworks

One of my favorite spots to watch Magic Kingdom fireworks is on the Polynesian beach. The music is piped in and you get a great view of the show over Seven Seas Lagoon. It’s especially magical during a holiday fireworks show, like for the Halloween party! The holiday shows have fireworks surrounding the whole park. Being able to see it from a distance is stunning!

Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto

When you first get to the Polynesian, check in with the stand just inside Trader Sams. See how long the wait is and get your name down – the wait can be pretty long. This is an iconic Disney bar – one of the best themed experiences outside of the parks! Many of the signature drinks have interactive elements to them. My favorite is the Uh-Oa – it’s pretty lit.

Arcadia Games

Take a romantic walk down the dimly lit walkway back to the Grand Floridian. Before heading home, add one more fun activity to cap off the night. When was the last time you played Guitar Hero or Pac-Man? Stop at Arcadia Games (located by Gasparilla Grill over by the pool) and test your competitive skills. Such a fun way to make some fun memories!

What do you think? Would you take your significant other on one of these romantic evenings on your next Disney vacation?
