A major Cinderella Castle attraction is about to close with no reopening date announced.
Disney castles often contain more than shops and restaurants. Disneyland has a Sleeping Beauty Castle walkthrough, Disneyland Paris has galleries and a dragon beneath its castle, while Shanghai Disneyland’s Enchanted Storybook Castle connects to Voyage to the Crystal Grotto.
At Tokyo Disneyland, Cinderella Castle contains its own walkthrough attraction.
Cinderella Castle Attraction Closes October 1
Cinderella’s Fairy Tale Hall will close beginning October 1, 2026.
That leaves guests just 20 days to visit before the attraction goes offline. September 30 is currently its final scheduled operating day.
Tokyo Disney Resort lists the closure period as October 1 through “TBD,” meaning no reopening date has been announced.
The self-guided walkthrough is located inside Cinderella Castle and features displays inspired by Cinderella (1950).
Guests can see paintings, dioramas, a throne room, and a recreation of Cinderella’s glass slipper while moving through the castle’s upper rooms.
Cinderella’s Fairy Tale Hall opened in 2011.
It replaced Cinderella Castle Mystery Tour, which operated from 1986 until 2006 and took a much darker approach.
That former attraction featured several Disney villains, including the Horned King from The Black Cauldron (1985).
The upcoming closure does not mean Cinderella Castle itself is shutting down.
Guests should still be able to use the lower passage through the castle, which contains five mosaics depicting Cinderella’s story.
The mosaics are made from more than 100,000 pieces of Venetian glass.
The Glass Slipper shop also remains listed inside Cinderella Castle.
What guests will lose from October 1 is access to Cinderella’s Fairy Tale Hall and its upper rooms.
Disney has not confirmed whether the attraction is receiving a refurbishment, redesign, or another type of update.
More Tokyo Disneyland Attractions Are Closing
Cinderella’s Fairy Tale Hall is not the only Tokyo Disneyland attraction facing downtime.
Dumbo the Flying Elephant remains closed through October 22.
The Happy Ride with Baymax will close from September 15 through September 29.
The Enchanted Tiki Room: Stitch Presents “Aloha E Komo Mai!” will also close from September 24 through October 23.
Larger changes are underway in Tomorrowland.
Tokyo Disney Resort is building Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue, a new Wreck-It Ralph attraction scheduled to open in spring 2027.
A new store called Pixel Prism will open alongside it.
Later in 2027, Space Mountain Earthrise will debut as the replacement for Tokyo Disneyland’s original Space Mountain, which permanently closed in 2024.
Tokyo DisneySea is also dealing with a major closure.
Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull has been closed since August 2025 and is currently scheduled to reopen on November 30, 2026.
Cinderella’s Fairy Tale Hall still has no return date.
Unless Disney updates the schedule, September 30 will be the last chance to explore the attraction before it closes indefinitely.
