Items Guests Always Forget When Packing for Walt Disney World

Packing for Walt Disney World can be overwhelming as you try to remember all the things you need.  From matching shirts, adorable Minnie ears, and swimsuits, there is so much to try to remember.

No matter how much you plan what to pack or how many times you check your Disney packing list, there are some items that Guests always seem to forget.

Double-check that you have these items in your suitcase before heading down to Walt Disney World.

Extra Shoes

Walking is a huge part of a  Walt Disney World vacation as Guests walk anywhere from eight to fifteen miles a day.  This can be a lot on our feet and our shoes.

Although many Guests make sure to have good walking shoes, something they forget to pack is extra shoes.

Even your best shoes can cause irritation when walking that far for multiple days in a row.  Having an extra pair of shoes to switch into can really help alleviate any blisters or sore spots.

When traveling during the rainy season, it is also a good idea to have extra shoes for that time when you get caught in a downpour- it happens.  Being able to switch to dry shoes can be a game-changer.

Don’t get stuck walking around the Parks with sore feet.  Pack that extra pair of comfortable shoes so you can keep on walking around having a great time on your Disney vacation.

Medicine

Most of us remember our prescription medicine when traveling, but don’t forget to toss in OTC items as well for your vacation.

Even though you are able to find medicine throughout the Walt Disney World Resort hotels and at a Disney Park, having your own will save you some time, frustration, and money.

Make sure you have medicine for headaches and tummy aches.  Changing a routine when it comes to eating and sleeping can have some impacts on the body.  Making sure you have medicine to help when those issues arise can be extremely helpful.

These are the top two medicines we think most Guests will appreciate having during their Disney vacation but think about other seasonal medicines that might be helpful in a new environment just in case.

It never hurts to have OTC medicine on hand for those unplanned issues that do happen in Walt Disney World.

Aloe

Most Guests remember to pack sunscreen when heading to Walt Disney World for a family vacation; however, don’t forget to throw in some aloe vera as well.

There is nothing worse than having a sunburn and not having anything to put on it to soothe the sting.  This is where we recommend making sure you toss in some aloe.

Being able to apply some aloe on a sunburn can really help lessen the irritation and help it heal faster.  If you do happen to forget and find yourself a little red, you can find aloe vera in the first aid locations throughout the four Theme Parks and at the gift shops at the Walt Disney World Resort hotels.

Snacks

We know that you can typically find snacks around every turn at Walt Disney World which is why many Guests don’t pack any.  This can be a big mistake when those late-night munchies hit.

Many of the dining locations and Resort gift shops close early in the evening meaning you might be without food if you don’t get back to your Resort until later in the evening.

Don’t end your night being hungry, throwing in some easy items like granola bars, dry cereal or nuts can really help save the day/night.

These are great to toss in your Park bag as well so when someone gets hangry while in line you can be prepared.

Night Light

Another item that is small and easily forgotten is a night light.  Walt Disney World Resort hotel rooms can be extremely dark which can scare little ones as they adjust to a new sleeping situation.

Pack that night light so you can help little ones adjust and adults will be able to find the bathroom a little easier in the middle of the night.

They don’t take up much room in the suitcase, but they can make a big difference in the Disney Resort room.

Souvenir Bag

New Minnie Ears, a bubble wand, a popcorn bucket, all the souvenirs that you will gather while on vacation in Walt Disney World take up a lot of room.

Don’t get stuck trying to stuff suitcases that were already full to start with.  Instead, consider throwing in another small duffle bag.

Duffle bags don’t take up much room on the way to Walt Disney World but it can be extremely helpful for getting those magical souvenirs home safely.

Sunglasses

A commonly forgotten item traveling to Walt Disney World is sunglasses.  These are easily forgotten as you are rushing to the airport.

Make sure you have sunglasses by packing a pair in your carry-on or in your suitcase.  Doing this will ensure that they make it on vacation with you.

It can be extremely difficult to be in a Disney Park without sunglasses, so make sure everyone has a pair packed for the trip.

It can be hard determining what to pack for a Walt Disney World vacation.  We hope that telling you about these commonly forgotten items will help you be more prepared with your Disney World packing list and when you arrive at Walt Disney World for your vacation.
