My Disney Experience is the official planning app for Walt Disney World. Through this app, Guests can link their Resort, tickets, MagicBands, and credit card for their trip.
Once Guests have linked their information, they will use My Disney Experience to access essential information during their Disney vacation. We will look at the app’s key features to help you save time during your Walt Disney World vacation. Use these features throughout your vacation to save time as you enjoy Disney.
If you do online check-in for your Walt Disney World Resort, you can skip the front desk and head to your room. Once your Walt Disney World Resort room is ready, Disney will send out a text and notification that will let you know your room number. The text will also provide a link to a map that will help you navigate your way to your room within the Resort.
By choosing this option, Guests can save time by skipping the often long lines at the front desk. Once receiving the text, head to your room and use the app to enter your room. Just click on “Resort,” and you will see the option to unlock your door.
If you have purchased MagicBands, you can also use those to enter your Resort room. By using the online check-in option and the My Disney Experience app, you can save time when you first arrive at your Walt Disney World Resort.
Once you are ready to head to your Walt Disney World Resort, use the My Disney Experience app to check out bus arrival times. Disney now provides Guests with estimated arrival times. This can save you a lot of time and frustration throughout your trip.
Use the app to help navigate how much time you have before your bus comes. Avoid long waits at the bus stop by checking out available bus times. This is also a nice feature when you need to hustle the family.
Know that these times often change as the buses navigate traffic, but they are typically within 5-10 minutes of posted times. We appreciate being able to check these times out, so we don’t feel like we are constantly waiting on or rushing to a bus.
Another feature within the My Disney Experience that is new and can help you save time is MagicMobile. With Disney MagicMobile, Guests can enter the Disney Parks, connect PhotoPass images, access virtual queues and lightning lanes, and charge to their Disney Resort hotel.
Once linked and activated, MagicMobile allows Guests to use the digital pass easily. Hold up your smart device near the different access points, and away you go. If you don’t want to purchase a MagicBand, this fantastic feature saves time and hassle throughout the trip.
A feature that we love within the My Disney Experience app is the wait times. It saves us a lot of steps and time during our trip. Looking at the app’s wait times, we can navigate the Parks without backtracking.
Before the app, we would often be frustrated after walking from Space Mountain to Splash Mountain only to find it was down or the wait time exceptionally long. Using the app, we can keep up to date on wait times and closures without wasting time and energy walking around the Park.
Remember, Disney Genie also provides predicted wait times for rides. This feature can help Guests navigate the Parks. By seeing the predicted wait times, Guests can determine the best time to experience that attraction. Do you wait, or do you hop in line?
Using mobile order is a fantastic way to save time during your Walt Disney World vacation. Mobile ordering is a new feature available at numerous quick service locations throughout the Disney Parks and the Disney Resorts.
Guests save a lot of time using this feature. You can skip standing in line to order from a Cast Member by placing your order through the app. You can also save time picking up food once it is prepared. Mobile orders have a separate pick-up area, making getting your order quick and easy.
This is one of our favorite time-saving features of the My Disney Experience app. We highly recommend using it throughout your Disney vacation.
Mobile checkout is a new feature slowly showing up at specific stores. Guests check out from places such as the World of Disney or the Emporium through My Disney Experience. Just scan the items you are purchasing, visit the Cast Member at the door to show payment, and on the way you go.
Walking out without visiting a register feels strange, but it saves time. These major stores in the Disney Parks and at Disney Springs get so busy at the beginning and end of the day that this option can save a lot of time.
A new feature was added to My Disney Experience at the end of 2021 to help Guests save time in line. Guests can now add Genie+ to their tickets each day. By adding this feature for a starting price of $15 per person, Guests can skip the regular lines at over 40 attractions.
Even though Guests might not like that this feature is an additional cost, it does save a lot of time in line. Guests that use Genie+ often reduce their wait times to 5 to 20 minutes per ride. This can be a huge time saver during the busy times of the day.
My Disney Experience has many great features that can help Guests save time during their Walt Disney World vacations. Take time to find these features within the My Disney Experience before vacationing. Knowing where they are located can save a lot of time during your trip.
