The World Showcase in EPCOT is a great destination for adults looking to relax, enjoy a beverage, and have a good time together. Many of us have heard about drinking around the world in EPCOT. This challenge aims to enjoy a drink at each of the countries featured around the World Showcase.

Although this is a fun way to try out new drinks, with eleven different countries, this challenge can become dangerous. For those wanting to take on this challenge, we have a few tips for drinking around the world without getting drunk. Remember, Walt Disney World (including EPCOT) is designed for families. Our first suggestion when it comes to drinking around the world it to share drinks. Most of us aren’t used to having eleven drinks throughout the day. Keeping this in mind, consider taking on the challenge with others.

As you travel to different countries, share the different drinks offered. This is your challenge so you can set the rules for whatever works for you. If this means that you each have a few sips of a drink- that’s going to be just fine.

All the Water

While enjoying the different drinks around the World Showcase in EPCOT, make sure that one of the drinks is constantly water. Not only do you usually need water during a day in EPCOT, if you are drinking, staying hydrated is even more critical.

Set a goal to drink a glass of water between each alcoholic beverage. Use that time to explore some of the stores or other parts of the pavilions. Don’t right from drinking to drinking without having some water between them.

Remember, you can get free ice water at quick service locations or bring your refillable water bottle into the Park. Make sure as you plan for this challenge that it includes how you will stay hydrated.

Consider looking at bringing in hydration packets as well. These can be a fantastic way to refuel your electrolytes throughout the day. Being proactive is a great way to ensure everyone stays hydrated during the challenge.

Eat the Snacks

Staying hydrated is one key to not getting drunk while drinking around the world, showcase in EPCOT. The other great tip to accomplish this is to eat. Getting wrapped up in the fun and excitement of being in EPCOT with friends and drinking can be easy. This excitement can make it easy to forget to eat.

As you travel around the World Showcase, ensure you are taking time to eat along with your drinks. If you are visiting during one of EPCOT”s amazing festivals, grabbing quick snacks from different booths is a beautiful way to get fuel but not get stuffed.

Eating large portions can be challenging during hot, humid days in EPCOT. Add in drinking, and big bowls of pasta and bread might not sound the best. Instead, have small snacks from different countries. This is a fun way to enjoy the terrific treats these countries offer and the drinks you want.

Take Breaks

Making sure you take breaks as you try to drink around the world is essential to ensure you don’t get drunk. As we mentioned before, EPCOT has eleven different countries. If you plan to drink at each country between when World Showcase opens (typically 11 a.m.) and when it closes for the evening (usually between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.), that is a lot of alcohol.

Don’t rush from country to country quickly drinking. Instead, take breaks. We mentioned having water and snacks along the way, but also considered taking more significant breaks. Enjoy a few rides, such as Frozen Ever After or Remy’s Ratogoulie Adventure.

We would also recommend taking time to enjoy the fantastic pavilions. Each of them is so detailed and has so much to explore. Check out the films such as Impressions de France. Explore the beautiful gardens in Japan or Canada. We love to go deep into Morocco and China Pavilions. There are so many hidden details throughout that it is fun to explore.

Have a Meal

Since ensuring you are eating is important, consider having a table-service meal. EPCOT has many outstanding dining options, from Space 220, where Guests experience an out-of-this-world meal, to a high end steakhouse at Le Cellier.

EPCOT has excellent quick service options if you aren’t into sit-down meals or want to save money. Regal Eagle has top barbeque and sides in the American Adventure Pavilion. Rose and Crown quick service is the perfect place to enjoy fish and chips.

Again, if you are visiting during one of the many EPCOT festivals, enjoy the activities and entertainment that goes along with the festival. Scavenger hunts, live music, and so much more happened throughout EPCOT. Take a break between those drinks to enjoy the rest of EPCOT offers.
