Experience the FREE Fun Offered Throughout Disney

When you think of Walt Disney World, free probably isn’t the word that comes to mind.  It might surprise you then that there are a handful of free, fun experiences that Guests can enjoy throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.

Take a look at all the free options you have during your Walt Disney World vacation and get ready for a wonderful time.

Celebration Buttons

You will see these throughout Walt Disney World and that is the free celebration buttons.  Guests can get these at their Walt Disney Worle Resort hotel or at any of the four Disney Parks or Disney Springs.

There are a few different buttons that we typically see such as a birthday button and happily ever after, but the most popular is the celebration button.  Guests can use this button to show whatever it is they are celebrating while in Walt Disney World.

Are you there for a girls trip?  Celebrating graduation?  Did you complete a runDisney race?   No matter what it is you accomplish, grab a free button and wear it proudly during your Disney vacation.

Kidcot Fun Spots in EPCOT

Throughout the World Showcase in EPCOT, little kids (and big kids too) can enjoy these fun, educational spots.  In every international pavilion around the World Showcase, these Kidcot Fun Spots provide kids with a fun activity that includes facts about the country as well as an activity.

If you are looking for something for the little ones to do while you enjoy a festival, these are wonderful options.  The Disney Cast Members are fantastic and fun making it a great place to relax and even learn a little about a new place.

Transportation

For a fun Disney-filled day without having to pay for a Disney Park ticket, take some time to enjoy the different modes of transportation throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.  We know that when you are rushing to rope drop Disney transportation might not feel so magical, but we do believe that it is part of what makes the magic in Disney.

Enjoy a ride on the Skyliner and monorail.  Visit some of the Disney Resorts as you do so. Try out a boat ride around Seven Seas Lagoon or take a ride down the Sassogoula River.  Disney’s transportation is so unique that it is a great way to see Disney in a different way.

There is something special about seeing Walt Disney World from high up in the Disney skyliner or from the water.  Enjoy sometime taking it all in!

Wilderness Explorers- Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Another great free option for kids can be found at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.  Kids can work to become a Wilderness Explorer just like in Up!  They work to gather 25 badges throughout Disney’s Animal Kingdom as they learn about different animals.

As this is all self-paced, it is a great filler when you are waiting between attractions or shows at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.  The different badges are scattered around the Disney Park making it easy to do as you make your way to the different areas.

Collect all 25 to become a true Wilderness Explorer!

Fireworks

A great and magical free activity that you can do at Walt Disney World is enjoying the fireworks.  You don’t have to be inside Magic Kingdom or EPCOT to enjoy the beauty of the evening shows.

For those wanting to see Disney’s Enchantment, but don’t want to pay for another Disney Park ticket, they can enjoy the show from the beach at Disney’s Polynesian Resort or even over at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.  Although you won’t get the full show, you are still able to enjoy the fireworks.

We also like enjoying Harminous from the Disney Skyliner or over at the Disney Boardwalk area resorts.  You can still enjoy many of the wonderful fireworks of this show from this area.

The nighttime shows are free to watch from around the Walt Disney World Resort.  Consider finding a spot outside of a theme Park to enjoy and magical evening.

Chip ‘n’ Dale Campfire Sing Along- Disney’s Fort Wilderness

Coming back soon to Disney’s Fort Wilderness is the Chip ‘n’ Dale Campfire Sing-Along.  This is a free activity that all Guests can choose to enjoy.  During this time, Guests can enjoy hugs from these two beloved characters, sing some favorite songs, and have a great time under the stars.

If you want to roast a marshmallow, that is an additional cost (or bring your own), but the overall interaction and fun are free for all to enjoy.  A lot of Guests don’t know about this activity so take advantage of making some special memories.

Exploring the Disney Resorts

A free activity that we think all Guests should do during their Walt Disney World vacation is exploring other Disney Resorts.  Walt Disney World Resorts are so magical and shouldn’t be missed.

We highly recommend taking time to visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.  Guests can spend a whole afternoon exploring this amazing Resort and participating in the many activities.  And that doesn’t even include sitting and watching the animals.

Each Disney Resort offers an amazing theme and wonderful details that are free to explore and enjoy.  Take advantage of this and maybe you will find your next vacation destination.

When we think of Walt Disney World “free” isn’t the first word that comes to mind.  We hope that this list will help you consider trying out some of the free options that Guests can enjoy during their Disney vacation.
