Frequent ride breakdowns are an unfortunate reality at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. It’s natural that even advanced Walt Disney Imagineering technology experiences difficulties when entertaining tens of thousands of guests daily, 365 days a year.
Sometimes, attraction downtime is thanks to unruly guest behavior. Trackless attractions like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure are most frequently affected. A hat or pair of sunglasses tossed onto the floor can emergency stop the ride, forcing Disney cast members to evacuate guests and restart computer systems.

This week, Redditor u/kachiggabro got stuck on Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT during the first day of their Walt Disney World Resort vacation. “My first ride at WDW and I get an in show exit!” they wrote.
The Disney Park guest shared this photo of riders stuck in front of the wine cork scene. Most riders scrolled on their phones as they sat on a less magical, lights-on version of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.

Guests sat on the EPCOT attraction for about ten minutes when the Redditor took the photo. Disney cast members later evacuated everyone through backstage areas and offered free Lightning Lane passes to all impacted guests.
